00:00Well, very straightforward today on the 715 second date update basically said, hey, I don't know what's going on.
00:05I'm a pretty normal guy. I went on a great date with this girl, Julia.
00:09We were texting after the date for a couple of days and then things just boom dropped off.
00:14Right. And, you know, we asked him a couple of questions about, you know, the text thread and what they were talking about.
00:20And if maybe he upset her or something. And he's like, oh, he's like everything was going great.
00:24He goes, we were moving towards the second date. Absolutely.
00:27So we're going to try to call Julia right now and see if we can get her on the phone.
00:30Hello. Hi, this is Julia. Yeah, who's this?
00:49Hey, Julia, this is J.R., Alana and Kevin over here at 99.5 QIK. How you doing?
00:55I'm good.
00:56Good morning.
01:00You're a little hesitant, which I totally understand. Have you ever heard us do something called a 715 second date update?
01:07Yeah.
01:08Okay. Well, it is about that time. And we wanted to see if we could ask you a couple of questions about a day you went on.
01:14Oh, my God. I think I know who this is about.
01:18Okay. Who do you think it's about? I hope you say the right name.
01:21Will.
01:22Well, this is Will.
01:24Hey, is that right?
01:24Yeah, we're talking about Will.
01:28Okay.
01:29I'll just tell you what we know. We know that you guys went on a great date to Craft Street, had some drinks, had some food.
01:34And you actually were texting post-date as well for a while.
01:39And he said things were really going well and that you guys were hitting it off, not only on the date, but after the date.
01:45And then you just kind of dropped off the planet.
01:47And he's super confused by that.
01:49So we were hoping we'd get some answers for him.
01:51Um, well, I mean, the guy's super shady.
01:56He's shady?
01:57He's shady.
01:59In what way? Can you explain?
02:01Well, we all agree. We did have a good time on the date. We were texting after the date.
02:08And then one day, he texts me from a different number and tells me that he changed his number.
02:14I asked why.
02:15And he totally, like, didn't answer my question, was just beating around the bush.
02:20And I just found that super shady.
02:22Who changes their number?
02:23People that need to change their number.
02:25Well.
02:26I don't know.
02:27Like, I've had the same number for the last 12 years.
02:29You know, like, I think you only change a number when you're either trying to hide something or I just feel super shady.
02:35He just wouldn't answer my question.
02:36So I just followed my gut intuition and stopped talking to him.
02:40I mean, I've had the same number since I was in high school.
02:41I've had the same number since I first got my very first cell phone in 1997.
02:47There you go.
02:48I was here in Florida.
02:49Yeah.
02:50I mean, I kind of get what you're saying is I don't know if I would know if I would call him shady because I don't know him.
02:55But also, I understand that that would be kind of odd for someone just to kind of change their phone number.
03:01Unless.
03:01Especially when they don't answer the question.
03:03Right.
03:03Because you did ask him straight up.
03:05Yeah.
03:05Well, let's see if we can get an answer to the question, Julia.
03:07We actually have Will on the phone with us.
03:09I want to bring him back on.
03:11Will.
03:12Yeah.
03:12Julia, hi.
03:13I'm sorry that I didn't know you feel so strongly about me just getting a new phone number.
03:18I didn't know that was such a taboo thing.
03:20I thought that's pretty normal.
03:21Well, I mean, if you would answer my question, like, as to why you changed your number, but you never did.
03:28You just, like, kept, like, going on with conversations, you know?
03:32I'm not trying to be, like, a side chick or anything like that.
03:36I don't know if you're married or you got a girlfriend.
03:38You know, I don't know.
03:38It was like a secret phone.
03:39Oh, no, no, no.
03:40No, hold on.
03:41Hold on.
03:41No, no, no.
03:41I told you.
03:42I got a new phone.
03:43And I was texting people.
03:45I was, like, calling the contact list.
03:47And I was texting people whom I wanted to have my new number.
03:50I think that's a pretty standard thing to do.
03:52Especially to get a new phone.
03:54Why did you get a new number?
03:55I mean, I've gotten a new phone and didn't have to change my number.
03:57But why did you decide to change your number?
03:59Oh, well, the first thing was, like, my phone.
04:01I just needed to get a new phone.
04:02So when I was at the cell phone place, you were like, do you want to keep the same number?
04:06And I said, nah, you know what?
04:07I'll just get a new number.
04:08Why not get a new phone?
04:09Get a new number.
04:10You don't do that.
04:12I'm sorry?
04:13No, what's the pain is when people are calling you up, like, hi, do you want to talk about your extended car warranty?
04:18Or, hi, we bought your house.
04:20We were listed to this property.
04:21Or, hi, this is, you know, Amazon, bought a recent purchase.
04:24Like, all those scam numbers.
04:26Yeah, but all those scam numbers come through to everybody.
04:29It's not like you get a new number and you totally, and, like, you escape that.
04:32They find you.
04:33I haven't gotten one call from.
04:36It just doesn't sound right to me, dude.
04:38I'm sorry.
04:39So maybe you're thinking that he gives out this fake number to women that he meets and then see how it goes.
04:47And, okay, now you can have my real number?
04:49I mean, that's.
04:50Who knows, man?
04:51You know what I'm saying?
04:52Like, that's so weird.
04:54He's trying to stay safe.
04:55I'm kind of wondering, are we talking to you on the new number, Will, or are we talking to you on the old number?
05:01No, no, this is my new cell phone and my new number.
05:05I don't, I, I, I'm still really taken aback that this is such, like, a red flag.
05:09Julia, is this sketchy enough where you think, or do you think it's sketchy enough to, to warrant not going out with him again?
05:17Yes, totally.
05:18My, my intuition is telling me, run!
05:21Oh, wow.
05:22It's really loud.
05:24But if this was flipped, JR, it would be okay.
05:28Why is that?
05:29Because maybe a woman was doing it for safety.
05:32Like, hey, I gave this guy my number.
05:34Let's give him a fake number.
05:35Well, maybe like a, like a extra phone or like, you know, another, like, phone or whatever that you have.
05:41And then if they're a legit person or they're nice or they're not creepy, then I'll give them my real number.
05:46Yeah, I, no.
05:48Will, it sounds like Julia is just a little bit, uh, if this was an innocent thing and you just changed your number, then great, good for you.
05:56Um, it sounds like Julia doesn't think that way, though, and she's not really willing to go on another date.
06:02So, I think you're going to be fighting an uphill battle if you just keep, if you keep, uh, trying to, trying to contact her.
06:08Well, at least you guys got me, you know, an answer.
06:11It's like I dodged a bullet, I guess.
06:13So, I guess I'm thanking you all two times.
06:15Well, listen, Will, I appreciate you coming on with us today.
06:17Julia, thank you for your time as well.
06:19You guys take care, okay?
06:21Okay, love the show.
06:22Thanks.
06:22Thanks.
06:23I, I totally think that it can be an honest thing where he's like, hey, I just changed my number.
06:27It is what it is.
06:28But, that's a big deal when you change your phone number.
06:31Especially when you've had it for a long time.
06:33Think about all the contacts you have.
06:34So, to do it, there's got to be...
06:36No, you're not changing your number just because this lady at the cell phone place suggested it.
06:41That's what you do.
06:42Well, that's what was interesting.
06:43He goes, ah, why not?
06:44Yeah, why not?
06:44Let's change my number.
06:46There's so much that goes into it when it comes to your bank information, your contacts.
06:49All right, well, do you think it was sketchy?
06:51Do you think that she was on to something?
