00:00hi in this video we are going to go over how you can create a lead as an AE and also how
00:10you can update or edit information for a lead that you have created now to start off with I
00:17am logged in as an AE and I am at the home page which where you will also be when you first log
00:26in to Salesforce so from here in order to create a lead we are first going to click on the leads tab
00:34and when you do it will be highlighted to indicate that you are on the right tab from here you will
00:43see a new button on the top right of the screen to create a new lead you have to click on the new
00:50button you'll now see a layout which looks similar to this first thing to keep in mind is that there
00:59are multiple fields that you have to fill in however the fields which are mandatory have a
01:05red asterisk beside it meaning that they are required fields and you will need to fill them
01:11in in order to be able to successfully create a lead so for the purpose of this example I'm going
01:18to quickly go ahead and create a lead by populating some of these fields
01:48so once I have filled in all the required mandatory fields I am ready to go ahead and
01:57create the lead however you'll notice that I haven't filled out either the email or a phone
02:06number for this lead and I will need these in order to create the lead successfully so let's see
02:15what happens if I don't you'll see that it says that please enter an email or a phone number before
02:23saving the record so it has that validation built in even if you forget to enter it so for this I will
02:32simply use a test email and hit save now since we have filled out either an email or a phone number
02:45it will let me proceed so as soon as I create a lead I am brought to the lead record page meaning
02:52it's capturing all the details related to this particular lead that I have just created
03:01now let's say I want to edit some information as I'm working on this lead and learning more information
03:07about her so in order to edit I can simply click the edit button on the top right or the pencil icon
03:16beside any of the fields so let's say I've learned that she is a director at the company I hit the pencil
03:25icon enter director hit save alternatively I can also simply click edit fill out whatever information
03:37that I have just learned let's say I now have a mobile number save and it will instantly update the information
03:52we can also update the stage meaning where we are in terms of progressing this lead we can simply click
04:00on the stage and click mark as current status or like all the other fields we can also hit the pencil icon
04:12beside the lead status field and it will sort of show you a drop down of the stages and allow you to move
04:21it along like that as well so that's all there is to creating and managing and editing leads hope that
