The Tobago People's Party (TPP) is not aligned to the UNC. This from Political leader of the TPP Farley Augustine during an interview with TV6'S Elizabeth Williams.
Transcript
00:00Chief Secretary Farley Agustin's comments come as political leader of the
00:04PNM Tobago Council Ansel Dennis has accused the TPP of being agents of the
00:09UNC. They are just continuing their version of the racist Calcutta ship talk. The TPP is not a member or aligned to any political party in Trinidad at all. The PDP stands alone, we will win alone, we will lose alone if we have to but we are
00:29not interested in joining any political party anywhere else in the country for
00:35that matter and so we represent proudly, boldly, Tobago as an indigenous Tobago
00:45party. We sought the chief secretary's view on the president of the all Tobago
00:50Fish and Folk Association Curtis Douglas being named a Tobago West candidate for
00:55the PDP. It's not surprising to me, I knew it was coming a long time ago and
01:02most of the posterings from him in the public space which included quite a lot
01:08of untruths were posterings in hopes that it will boost his political career.
01:14Mr. Agustin said we live in a democracy. But hey, this is a democracy and anyone is
01:22free to offer themselves. Nomination day is next week Friday so he's free to offer
01:27himself. It takes nothing away from us. Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
