00:00Around 8.30pm on Friday, Terrence Romero, 59, of Ojo Road, Sangre Grandi, and another

00:07man only known as Pa and Roger Lares, 38, were among a group of people at La Retreat

00:13Road, Arima, when three masked men in dark clothing bearing the marking Police, entered

00:19and opened fire.

00:20The group scattered and the gunmen made good on their escape.

00:23However, when the smoke cleared, first responders rushed the wounded to the Arima Hospital where

00:28Romero and Pa were declared dead and Lares was shot in his leg.

00:34And in other news, Blanchiches Police are reporting a murder where 33-year-old Javid

00:39Omar-Din of Brasoseco was discovered dead around 9.20pm on Friday by a neighbour who

00:45found him in his parked car slumped over the centre console.

00:50He had been shot in his chest.

00:51Omar-Din was the co-founder of Omar Beans Organic, a family-run enterprise established

00:57by Javid and his mother.

00:58In 2021, the duo emerged the overall winners of the prestigious Professor John Spence Challenge

01:05Trophy under the Ministry of Agriculture's National Cocoa Awards.

01:10And there was a police-involved shooting in Freeport around 4pm on Friday.

01:15The officers responded to a report of a robbery at a food and liquor mart in Freeport involving

01:21two Venezuelan nationals, one being armed with a gun.

01:25The officers said when they confronted one of the suspects in Chase Village, he pointed

01:29a gun at them and they opened fire.

01:31He ran off but was found wounded a short distance away.

01:36He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
