The police were right there - so says a relative of one of the victims of a triple murder which occurred on Saturday night. A six year old was also wounded in the incident. The relative says he has little faith that the family will secure justice, citing concerns about corruption among officers in the area.. Rynessa Cutting reports.

00:00A six-year-old boy remains hospitalized tonight after being shot in both legs
00:05during a brutal gun attack on his family Saturday night. The attack claimed the
00:10lives of his mother, her common-law husband and her brother.
00:30There are 47-year-old Anecia James, her older brother Anselm James and her
00:40common-law husband, 30-year-old Mitchell Francois. Police at the scene said they
00:46are pursuing a gang-related motive.
01:16There's been online speculation that the murders could be linked to a recent
01:32incident involving someone from the area. However, a relative dismissed the claim.
01:47The shooting occurred just after 10 p.m. on Saturday on La Retreat
02:05extension just off Dump Road in Guanapo, an area that has seen heavy police
02:09presence since the 2023 shooting deaths of four teenagers. Despite this, the
02:15relative expressed frustration over the police response.

03:14The gunmen are said to have escaped down a track through an orange field opposite
