00:00Businessman Gregory Fernandez, who has been exploring the power of AI in his
00:04business, says computers are now programmed with human knowledge on all
00:08areas, including the creative arts. He admits that jobs will be lost, but there
00:13are also jobs to be gained. Fernandez reveals that he's been using an AI tool
00:17and has spent several months training it to create music, including soca. He now
00:23has around 15 soca songs. Some of them have been played on the radio at this
00:28time. People don't know that it's AI that they're listening to. They're also on
00:34Spotify, which he makes money from. It has been using Bejan Voices and others,
00:42and so I've been training it to use a Trini voice, right? Now again, you can
00:48create your own voices with the AI, but it transforms the whole way you
00:54make music. So for a lot of youths out there, I mean, I'm no musician. There are
00:59many youths out there who play pan and who are into the music. They can read
01:04the music sheets and so on. They can now use this as an opportunity to build
01:11out music, right, and earn revenue. Fernandez provides insight into his
01:19earning, saying so far those songs have generated around 2000 US dollars in
01:24revenue. Every month I earn about 3-400 US on Spotify with my music, right? Now
01:32there's an opportunity. So Young Brother and all of these are on Spotify, right?
01:39And he's earning much more than me, right? So he has some songs with like
01:452 million streams. You get paid by the number of streams, right? And he has a
01:51big social media following. So he has a lot more arm. And for every million
01:56streams, you get about 3-4000 US dollars. He says usually it could take
02:00thousands of dollars to create a song from writing the music to video
02:05production. But for as little as 9 US dollars monthly, many songs can now be
02:11created. Fernandez believes with corporate or government investment in
02:15AI, thousands of jobs can be created for people, including the youth. He says
02:20if the country does not make investments in AI, it will be left
02:24behind at a time that is fast approaching. Alicia Boucher, TV6 News.
