00:00According to Mr. Trim, the situation is unfair to his membership. He tells TV6
00:06the payment must be considered retroactively. Trim says he is not
00:11interested in any excuses about economic woes. If you want to talk about state of
00:16economy and these discussions, why is it only applicable when it comes to
00:21workers and not when it comes to senior public officials? Because at the end of
00:25the day, contrary to popular belief, I'm a public servant, right? And
00:31therefore I should be treated with the same respect and dignity as senior
00:35public officials. So I've been honest. I don't want to hear a hogwash because if
00:39it's good for you, it is more than better for myself.
00:43Also speaking on the morning edition was the General Secretary of the Postal
00:48Workers Union, David Forbes, who says T.T. Post has meeting rooms. However,
00:54thousands of dollars are being spent for an external location to conduct
00:58negotiation meetings. According to him, the workers could be better served by
01:04those funds. There are a number of things that the workers do not have in order to
01:09be productive. And we talk about productivity all the time. So here it is,
01:13the workers' morale. They don't have the right salary. They don't have the
01:19adequate tools to do the job. They have to wait to get an allowance that is
01:23backdated. In the retail department alone, there are about 20 something
01:26workers who are there. They are waiting right now on a uniform allowance for the
01:32past three years. But you're taking that money, and that's our concern, to
01:36expend it in another area. Take that same money and use it on the workers
01:40who you are owing. Meanwhile, Labour Relations Officer Renee St Rose tells
01:45us workers are still awaiting allowances that were promised to them
01:50since COVID. She stressed that the union is not being treated equitably.
