00:21
wage dispute.

Communications Manager of Caribbean Airlines Dion Legault says the airline welcomes the
00:27
finance minister's intervention.
00:32
Caribbean Airlines really welcomes the announcement by the Honorable Minister of Finance that
00:40
he has authorized the offer to the Trinidad and Tobago Airline Pilots Association as recommended
00:47
by Caribbean Airlines and the minister's statement is clear regarding the offer.
00:55
So the company, Caribbean Airlines, we remain very optimistic that a satisfactory conclusion
01:03
can be reached and that we can all direct our full focus and energy to the continued
01:10
success and growth of the airline.
01:15
Meanwhile, Timothy Bailey, Industrial Relations Consultant and Advisor to the Aviation Communications
01:22
and Allied Workers Union, says the pilots are pleased that the minister stepped in and
01:27
saved the day.
01:28
The intervention of the minister, we are grateful that in this instance, good sense has prevailed.
01:37
He has approved the 4% for the collective bargaining period that we have been in negotiations
01:42
for which would be for 2015 to 2020 and yes, we have taken note that he has also approved
01:52
additional 4% for the period 2020 through 2023.
01:58
Against that background, the pilot body, the executive of the union will endeavor to meet
02:03
with its membership to basically consult and obviously come up with a decision as it relates
02:11
to the second period and once that process is completed, the pilot body will respond
02:18
as it relates to the second proposal.
