00:00The North-South Classic will have a different flavor attached to it as it's
00:04going to be a day-night contest with the use of a ping-ball at the Brian Lara
00:07Cricket Academy. The game rolls off on Thursday with all-rounder Mikhail Govaya
00:12representing North. The former Fatima College student is known for batting
00:16right-handed and bowling off spin. I think it's just another game of cricket
00:23for me at the end I love playing cricket not wide ball cricket not a
00:26Red Bull cricketers cricket in general and I kind of look at it as a plus
00:30because it's it's it's more opportunities and more hours that you
00:35could showcase your talent and put yourself to a test because it is a test
00:40so for me I'm just looking forward to it it's just really exciting for me to get
00:46out there and especially how it's ping ball it'll be a good challenge with the
00:49ping ball as well for the for the day and night game. Both teams are strong
00:53with North being captained by Carrie Peer and South being led by Jack Gulley.
00:58So which team will come out on top? Not to be too confident or anything but I
01:02think North has a very good team but in saying that South also has a good team
01:06so I don't think it'll be a very good competitive game of cricket starting
01:10tomorrow. The regional four-day tournament has not seen big crowds in
01:14quite a long time. As such the 22-year-old lad from St. James has a
01:19message for the public. Yes we would like supporters to come. We would like to see
01:24a few more people support in the longer format of cricket as well. Of recent
01:29years it has died down a bit and people are more gravitated towards limited over
01:34but we would like to see as much people as possible come out and support and
01:38and watch a good competitive game of cricket. Govaya played in the Republic
01:43Bank CPL for eventual champions St. Lucia Kings and in the regional Super
01:48Fifty for combined campuses and colleges. Now he's hoping to make his
01:52regional four-day debut. Okay so for four-day firstly I would like to achieve
01:57this making a team firstly whether it be my national team Trinidad Red Force or
02:02whether it be CCC. So for me it's just about making a team firstly about the
02:09two trial games whether we have North-South that is starting tomorrow the
02:12North-South Classic and then we also have some CCC trial games that supposed
02:17to be coming up in the near future. So for me not to think too far ahead about
02:22the exact goals and achievements yet but just to come to the trial games and
02:27perform in the trial games and then work from there once selected for one big
02:31teams for sure. Govaya has taken eight wickets from five
02:35list day matches and has an economy rate of 4.53 and over. Vinod Nawani, Thiefs Export.
