00:00I want to have a conversation very specifically about what you want to see in Dallas.
00:05But I did want to run through this. I was listening to PFT Commentator's podcast this morning.
00:10So think about this 2018 NFL draft. And I say this because I don't know who these morons are,
00:18but apparently I got tagged in a tweet. So this dude Disco,
00:22who I feel like Disco is a part of our universe and we appreciate Disco,
00:26um, said that some fans have already declared Ben Sennett a bust and wonder why he hasn't
00:31supplanted Zach Ertz. And I think the people saying this are so incredibly stupid.
00:36Sennett has been really good all year. Ertz might be a Hall of Famer. I don't understand this rush
00:42to not like Zach Ertz, who caught two touchdowns last week, including the game winner in overtime.
00:48Ertz is a fantastic player and one of the best pure route runners as a tight end,
00:53probably in NFL history. We have to find a way
00:57to ignore the small amount of people who like to say the dumbest things possible.
01:04And let's not put any more, you know, focus on them, move past them and move on. You don't just
01:12sit down somebody because somebody outside the building think that they can't play.
01:17I've watched him play all year and the guy has given us a hell of a lot, you know what I'm
01:23saying? So, so we got to stop. We got to start to ignore those people. And you know, it may be
01:29sometimes it's the infiltration of others, fans that didn't like it from Philly when he left and
01:35this, that and the other, you know, people come in and do that stuff. So we got to learn to just
01:39ignore them. I had an interview with a commander side ends coach David Rye yesterday. I think we're
01:44going to play that later in the show. We talked about arts at length and how impressed he is,
01:49but the notion of declaring a player, a bust 16 games during his rookie season, I just found so
01:55stupid. And I was listening. Like I said, I was listening to part of my take this morning.
02:00Everyone that thought that Senate and Luke McCaffrey was supposed to automatically get
02:06playing time. I've always fought against that. I keep saying you have to learn how to play at this
02:10level. And Senate is he's a hell of a blocker. He plays best team out the world. And then he's
02:19going to be able to enhance other stuff coming forward. You look at Luke. Luke is in his what
02:24third year now of being a receiver. And now he's at the highest level playing at rice.
02:29Yeah. He has to learn how to play it. And I see a bright future for him, but everybody just
02:36automatically assumes just because somebody was dead. We've seen, we've seen Heisman trophy
02:42winners never take a snap in the NFL. Well, that's exactly where I kind of where I was going.
02:48Let's look back at the 2018 NFL draft, shall we? And then think about what's happening in
02:54the playoffs this year. Number one pick in that draft Baker Mayfield, who a lot of at various
03:00points in his career had been dismissed as a bust repeatedly. Yeah. He's I assume he made
03:07the pro bowl. He's, you know, Tampa is, is Tampa's in the, I guess not definitively in,
03:12but Tampa's probably in the playoffs. Mayfield playing at a really high level. People definitely
03:17at one point in time called him a bus. Yeah. Number two, picking that draft.
03:21Saquon Barkley, the giants just decided he was done. Didn't want to pay him.
03:26How's that look? It might cost you your job. Honestly, Joe. Yeah. Yeah. Number three,
03:31picking that draft landfills boy, Sam Darnell. Everybody thought everybody thought people still
03:37think he's a bus and he's sitting there 14 to two. Right. And about to get paid.
03:44That draft was loaded. Be listening to this. Denzel Ward at four Chubb at five
03:49Quentin Nelson at six, Josh Allen at seven Roquan at eight McGlinchey nine, Josh Rosen at
03:5510. There's your first bus. Minka goes 11 Vita. Vega goes 12. Deron Payne here.
04:03I mean, this draft was just loaded. Tremaine Edmonds in that draft Jair Alexander.
04:07And you know, went 32 fellow by the name of Lamar Jackson. I mean, that, that was told
04:17he should try and run him back. And it's just such a loaded draft, dude. But yeah,
04:22that's kind of my point is like, people got to chill trying to make these pronouncements and
04:28determine draft success. This new staff is, I think they know what the hell they're doing.
04:35Yeah. You know? Well, dude, so 13 people got pro bowl recognition, obviously Jaden interior in,
04:43and then 11 other dudes are some level of alternate, right? Yeah. Of those 13 be
04:5110 of them joined this organization since March. These guys know what they're doing. And, and,
04:59and the other three were here back to the Gruden day. And then all of the pundits think about that
05:07when they, when they picked all these people up, they were like, Oh, Washington,
05:10they didn't get no talent. Remember that we have no talent. And I say, let the people at least
05:17get in, get in here first and see what they can do. They have more, more than enough talent.
