Cricket analyst Fazeer Mohammed believes the upcoming ODI and T20 series between the West Indies and Bangladesh will be competitive.

As such, he cannot make a prediction on the winner, since he knows both sides tend to be more focused when playing the two white ball formats.
Transcript
00:00The Test series is done and dusted, with the West Indies and Bangladesh earning a 1-1 result.
00:06It's now time to shift gears as the two sides meet in a three-match ODI series starting
00:10Saturday in St. Kitts.
00:12According to cricket analyst Fazil Mohammed, it's even-stevens for both teams in the 50-over
00:16format.
00:17FAZIL MOHAMMED, Cricket Analyst, West Indies
00:18I would expect Bangladesh, especially with that boost of that Test match victory, to
00:23really come hard at the West Indies.
00:24I expect them to be even more competitive than we saw them in the Test matches.
00:30So I think the West Indies have a fight on their hands.
00:32It could go either way.
00:33It could be 2-1 to either one of them.
00:35And if that sounds like a cop-out as far as making a prediction, it's only because you're
00:39talking about two unpredictable teams.
00:42Part of the ODI squad is Amir Jangu, who made 446 runs at an average of 89.20 in the 2024
00:49Regional Super 50.
00:51And Mohammed has simple words of advice for the 27-year-old keeper batter.
00:55Now that you're going to step up, if given the opportunity, it's really up to him to
01:00lift his game another few levels beyond the regional standard.
01:05And not just Amir Jangu, but so many of our cricketers need to appreciate that, that yes,
01:11it's an honor to play for the West Indies, but that in itself is not the be-and-end-all.
01:17You shouldn't see playing for the West Indies as a chance for a T20 franchise contract automatically
01:23or a chance to attract somebody in the IPL.
01:25Yes, that will come eventually anyway, but surely for Amir Jangu or anyone else getting
01:31an opportunity, this is a chance to really establish yourself as a West Indies cricketer.
01:37Following the ODI series, the teams then played three T20 internationals.
01:42The two have met each other 16 times, with nine wins for the West Indies and five for
01:47the Tigers, while there have been two no results.
01:51According to Mohammed, that series can also go either way.
01:54I expect the T20s to go very much like the One Dayers, where you have a situation where
01:59it could come down to one piece of individual brilliance by either side.
02:04So it could be 2-1 either way.
02:05It could be 3-0.
02:07And again, because we're talking T20, it can all change with one spectacular performance.
02:13And it could come, therefore, from either side.
02:16All three T20s will be held in St. Vincent, with the first one starting December 15.
