00:00The Westernies have enjoyed a good run in one international cricket at home, notwithstanding the many different challenges in the other formats of the game.
00:09But against Pakistan, the challenge obviously will be the spinners, and they made the difference in the T20 series in Fort Lauderdale over the last weekend.
00:18And they're expected to do the same at Taruba, never mind whatever conditions may prevail because they are quite skilled bowlers.
00:25And when you think about it, some 30 overs of quality spin will present a challenge for the Westernies.
00:32But we'll have to wait and see how things turn out in that regard.
00:35The longer format has certainly turned out over the last year or so to be actually a stronger format in the wide ball game for the Westernies,
00:43which might be a bit of a surprise given the fact of their struggles in Test match cricket and now again in the T20 format.
00:50But we'll have to, again, trust on the Westernies really bringing forward their best game to challenge Pakistan.
00:57However, the Pakistanis, as unpredictable as they are, when you look at the strengths and the weaknesses of their team,
01:04very much mirroring in many respects what the Westernies have been experiencing, it could be another tight contest.
01:11Could go 2-1 either way.
01:13But I will go at this stage with Pakistan because of the strength of their spinners, the quality that they have in batting at the top of the order,
01:21and indeed the noted vulnerability of the Westernies to quality slow bowling.
01:27So as it stand, I see Pakistan taking the one-day series by two matches to one,
01:31which may go against the grain of the Westernies' performances in the wide ball, 50 overs over the last year or so.
01:38But we'll have to wait and see if the Westernies can rise to the challenge.
