Transcript
00:00Welcome back. Let's join Juza Deonanam for tonight's weather forecast.
00:07Thank you, Disha. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago. I hope you are all staying dry out
00:11there because today, well, it was a wet and wild Wednesday. And if you think we're out
00:17of the woods, think again, folks, as this afternoon, we have a system swirling over
00:21the Caribbean Sea. The latest information shows that it's becoming a tropical depression
00:26early Thursday morning and then a tropical storm Thursday afternoon, getting the name
00:31Sarah. The storm is expected to move due west towards Central America and Stolson. The scent
00:37of the storm could potentially steer over Caribbean waters, allowing it to get stronger.
00:43Back at home, today's temperatures were around 31 degrees in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago, a
00:49bit of a jump after yesterday. Now, looking ahead into tonight, things should settle down
00:55a bit. It'll cool off with temperatures dropping to 23 degrees Celsius in Trinidad and 25 degrees
01:01Celsius in Tobago. So you're going to want to pull out your blanket, folks. There's also
01:05a 20 percent chance of the occasional thunderstorm. Tomorrow is looking like the sun wants to
01:11make a comeback, kind of. We'll have partly cloudy skies with a few showers popping up
01:17here and there, especially in Trinidad. There's a 40 percent chance of a thunderstorm in western
01:22Trinidad. So don't go leaving the house without your umbrella just yet. It's going to be a
01:27hot one, though. 33 degrees Celsius in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago. And with that heat index,
01:33it's going to feel like 38. So just in time to remind you why you missed the beach. Right.
01:39But don't worry, the sea has your back. Well, sort of. Seas will be moderate with waves
01:44of one point five to two meters in open water. So if you're planning to take an early weekend
01:49dip, keep it chill in sheltered areas where it's calmer at a gentler one meter.
01:57Now, here's a look at our tide times.
02:10For my early risers, here's your heads up. Tomorrow, you'll be able to catch that sunrise at 6.01 a.m. in Trinidad
02:16and 6 o'clock in Tobago. The sun will dip a bit earlier, though. 5.39 in Trinidad and 5.37 in Tobago.
02:24Now, just a quick update from the region. Our neighbors over in Grenada have been dealing with
02:29some serious flooding, and unfortunately, it's been rough. Torrential rains have caused flash floods
02:34and tragically, a primary school teacher lost her life when her car was swept away.
02:39So for tonight, let's keep Grenada in our thoughts.
02:42So that's your weather update for today, folks. More news after this break.
