00:12Does the admissions office know very clearly when an applicant is using them as a safety school?

00:21So, that depends.

00:22I think one of the biggest mistakes that students make is they don't show demonstrated interest to schools they think are their likelies.

00:32Like, they think, oh, I'm just going to get in here, no problem.

00:35So, I'm not going to go visit, I'm not going to open all these emails they're sending me.

00:39And that's a huge mistake.

00:41So, many schools, especially the ones that are less selective, are tracking what we call demonstrated interest.

00:48So, we advise students to go visit every single school on their list.

00:52If you can afford to visit, go and visit.

00:55Secondly, if they're sending you emails, open every email.

00:59Open, open, open, open, open.

01:01They're looking at the open rates on the emails.

01:03If you're not showing that interest, that school that you might have thought was likely on your list might waitlist you.

01:11They may not take you because they might not think you're serious about going there.
