00:00You can also take part of that letter to talk about why that school is such a great fit for you.

00:06So this is another time for them to hear your voice and make a case for yourself.

00:15If you are waitlisted, what is the best way to increase your chances of getting off the waitlist and into that college?

00:26It's more of a pool and less of a list, by the way, right?

00:30Meaning it's big.

00:31It's big and it's not like there's a ranking of the students because they're trying to place a whole class.

00:38So if they don't have enough classics kids, and let's say they have nine tenured classics professors,

00:47they have to fill those classics classes.

00:50So they're going to go back into that wait pool and look for who are my classics kids.

00:56Right? That's why it's a pool. It's not a list.

00:59If you want to remain in the pool and you're not accepting another offer, great.

01:02You're letting them know.

01:04They will tell you if you are allowed to send in extra materials.

01:08If so, this is a time where similar to being deferred, you would write a letter of continued interest

01:15so you can update them on everything you've been doing both in the classroom

01:20and outside of the classroom since you submitted your original application.

01:24And you can also take part of that letter to talk about why that school is such a great fit for you

01:30and what you plan to do there specifically.

01:33Courses you want to take, specific professors you want to study with, but why you're right for them.

01:39So this is another time for them to hear your voice and make a case for yourself.
