00:00Rude gifting, resourceful or rude?
00:02I think it's resourceful.
00:05They don't have to know.
00:06Hi, I'm Kirsten Dunst, and this is Common Courtesy
00:10for Town & Country.
00:12How do I handle delicate situations?
00:16I am definitely a non-confrontational person, yes.
00:19It takes me a few days, and then I'll come to the person
00:21with the thoughtful, you know, I've taken the time,
00:25and I come with my issues.
00:28Attending the carpet and leaving before the screening.
00:31That's funny.
00:32I often do the carpet and then go to dinner
00:35while everyone's watching the movie and then come back.
00:37Because I can see a movie I'm in once, maybe twice
00:42if you have to sit through it, like at a festival.
00:44But I would much rather go to dinner.
00:47Matching couple outfits.
00:49We unconsciously do this a lot.
00:51One of us changes, though.
00:53I'm not going to roll out of this thing like,
00:55oh, you're wearing a blue plaid shirt,
00:56I'm wearing a blue plaid shirt, you're wearing jeans,
00:58I don't want to match with my husband.
01:03Showing up perpetually 10 minutes late to set.
01:05I think 10 minutes is fine.
01:07And no one ever waits for me.
01:09So I wake up like five minutes before I get picked up
01:13and brush my teeth on set, and I do everything on set,
01:15because I hate waking up early, so I just, I do it all there.
01:19As long as it's not affecting everybody, then we're good.
01:23Taking off your shoes on a plane, if it's a long flight, yeah, of course.
01:27Yeah.
01:28What?
01:29No issues.
01:30I don't think so.
01:31Put some socks on.
01:32I put on my shoes to walk to the bathroom.
01:35I'm not going to have weird sock situations in the bathroom.
01:38Failing to send a thank you note, I'm terrible at this.
01:43I'm a texter.
01:44I would, I'm not writing a card.
01:46Sorry.
01:47You have a lot of time on your hands if you can send a thank you note.
01:50But it's a nice gesture.
01:51It's lovely.
01:53But like for a kid's birthday party,
01:55like sending out a thank you note to everybody,
01:58it's very nice of you, but I don't have time for that.
02:02Showing up to the airport four hours early, oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
02:08I am not that person.
02:09My husband actually has made me a, he's a like fly by the seat of your pants,
02:14get there just in time.
02:16Now I'm kind of in between.
02:18An hour and change I think is perfect.
02:20Showing up with an uninvited plus one.
02:23Well, it depends to what, but I don't think that's a good idea.
02:26I wouldn't do that.
02:28What about a wedding?
02:30That's a really bad idea.
02:31That's like actually really thoughtless, I think, unless it's a great surprise.
02:36Correcting someone on the pronunciation of your name.
02:39I mean, everyone messes up my name, so I give up, I don't care.
02:42I'm like, I'll answer to Kristin, Kirsten, Kirsten, which is how you say my name, but I don't blame people.
02:48Like, in England, they don't really say my name right.
02:51Like, on the last set, everyone was saying my name wrong.
02:54But there was like Swedish people and people from Hungary and like, you just give up.
02:58And it is, for the record, Kirsten.
02:59It's Kirsten, yeah.
03:01But again, who cares?
03:03It's fine.
03:04Re-gifting, resourceful or rude?
03:07I think it's resourceful.
03:08They don't have to know.
03:11Someone gives you some nice, like, I don't know, like, if you don't, you know, I think that's, it depends the gift.
03:17Like, if it's a really nice candle and you're like, but we have to go to this thing, I'm going to give them this nice candle.
03:22I wouldn't re-gift something that was not nice.
03:26Have you ever caught someone re-gifting something you've given them?
03:29No, my friends aren't that dumb.
03:32Sweatpants at the office.
03:33I mean, yes.
03:35Sweatpants always, if you can.
03:37Like, I don't know, as soon as I get home, I'm like, sweatpants.
03:41I've done many Zoom interviews where I'm like, hair and makeup top and cozies on the bottom.
03:44So, sweatpants at the office, it depends where you work, but then wear fancy sweats, you know?
03:50Okay, talking to your seatmate when they're trying to read.
03:53No way.
03:54No way.
03:55Who would do that?
03:56That's so rude.
03:57I sat on a plane.
03:58Oh, my God, this guy chat.
03:59He talked so much that I was like, I put on my head.
04:02I was like, pretending I had my headphones and they put them on just to be like, he was right next to me.
04:08And, yeah, we had a long, a lot of hours to spend next to each other.
04:13Microtrends.
04:13I mean, when I was growing up, I followed the trends and everything.
04:17I mean, if I followed the trends now, I would look terrible, probably.
04:21There comes a certain age where, like, the trends go away, I think.
04:26Is there a trend you participated in that you might regret?
04:29Yes, those little clippies that, like, you know those butterfly clippies?
04:32Ugh, I know they've come back, but, like, I did one of the, oh, no, I don't like them.
04:38We're stressless.
04:39I mean, even if there weren't, we're stressless, we all have our opinions on, like, who looked good and who didn't look good.
04:47You know what I mean?
04:48They do it.
04:49Is it nice?
04:49No, but I wouldn't do it to people.
04:52But in my mind, I would.
04:53Thank you so much for watching.
04:57Be sure to check out my Town and Country cover.
05:23Thank you so much for watching.
