00:00I was doing at university and I experienced my first miscarriage at eight
00:06weeks and then I got pregnant again and I was really filled with joy but my joy
00:13turned into sorrow when I experienced a full term pregnancy which I still birthed
00:17at 39 weeks. The Safari Foundation is also on Facebook available for
00:23individuals who require the much-needed support. This support group was booted to
00:29make sure that persons aren't going through that experience alone. One in four
00:34women experience infancy loss and one in five women have reoccurring
00:38miscarriages or infancy loss. So based on my experience in 2015 there weren't any
00:45support groups available. I would have experienced the opportunity to go to
00:49therapy and counseling from my pastoral district but apart from that they weren't
00:55any peer support groups. Chanel Crooks Skeet told TV6 News she went into a
01:01state of depression when she lost her first baby and losing her second baby
01:06made things worse. In 2019 when it was Christmas time everyone would have had
01:13their children around them and then you know I was re-addressing so me being in
01:17the shop and seeing all of these things it carried me into a depression state
01:23and then I went home I just locked up the salon and went home and my aunt had
01:28brought some sleeping pills and I was about to take them and I believe it's the
01:34Holy Spirit knocked me out and put me into that deep sleep and when I woke up
01:38all the pills the bottle was still in my hand but all the pills was on the ground.
01:43All the women we spoke with told us they now have children since their initial
01:49loss but remain thankful for the support group which provides clinical
01:53specialist care and advice on a work-life balance. The group holds
01:59monthly meetings online. Elizabeth Williams TV6 News
