00:40Sergeant Rampasad was assigned to the 52nd Air Defense Artillery Brigade
00:4510th Army Air and Missile Defense Command in Ansbach, Germany.
00:51Her father, Basto, is a Trinidad and Tobago national
00:54while her mother, Carol, is an American citizen.
00:57The Ministry of Foreign and Caracom Affairs says United States authorities
01:01formally notified Trinidad and Tobago's acting vice consulate in New York of her death.
01:08Foreign and Caracom Affairs Minister Sean Sobers also spoke with Sergeant Rampasad's father
01:13earlier this week to offer condolences while officials from the consulate general in New York
01:19later visited the family to express the nation's sympathies.
01:23Sergeant Rampasad was among three U.S. Army personnel killed
01:27after an Iranian missile and drone attack targeted Muwafak Salty Air Base in Jordan on July 17th.
01:35She was initially reported as missing before the U.S. military confirmed
01:39she was believed to have been killed in the attack.
01:42The strike marked one of the deadliest direct attacks on American forces
01:46since the escalation of conflict between the United States and Iran earlier this year.
01:53The government says while Sergeant Rampasad served under the flag of the United States,
01:57her Trinidad and Tobago heritage gives her passing special significance for this country.
02:03It says her service and sacrifice, along with those of her fallen colleagues,
02:08will be remembered and honored.
