00:00With criminals now purportedly using police uniforms to carry out crimes,
00:04Police Commissioner Eula Harewood-Christopher mandated that most
00:08officers who use tactical uniforms are to return them fought with. The exception
00:14of course to these are four units, the Multi-Operational Police Section, the
00:19Inter-Agency Task Force, the Guard and Emergency Branch and the National
00:23Operations Task Force. And while there's mixed reactions to this decision within
00:28the ranks of the police service, officers of the Eastern Division under
00:32the supervision of Senior Superintendent Pamponnet swooped down on a house in
00:36Mayaro during an exercise early this morning and seized what appeared to be
00:40police tactical uniforms and army camouflage. Officers executed a search
00:45warrant for firearms and ammunition at a man's home in Guayaguayari just before
00:494 a.m. During the search, officers found concealed under mattress the following
00:55items, one phantom pistol 4.5 millimeter, one black holster, one TTPS
01:02identification badge in the name of P.C. Licorice in a black holder, one TTPS ID
01:07card in the name of P.C. Licorice issued in 2018, one blue t-shirt with police
01:13emblem, one black cargo pants, one blue operational jacket with two TTPS shoulder
01:18patches and two front police patches, one black cap marked police and one ski mask,
01:24two camouflage long trousers, one army type pattern t-shirt. Investigators say
01:29that based on the information, P.C. Licorice did not reside at that location
01:33and had been on continuous sick leave for over a year. Investigations are
01:38continuing into this latest find. Mark Besant, TV6 News.
