00:00Someone, somewhere has information on Deisha Peter that could lead to a safe return.
00:07It's the last bit of hope that her mother, Cassandra Batiste, is holding on to.
00:12She hasn't seen her child in one month.
00:14There's no way to be found, girl. Tell now, girl. Tell now.
00:19I didn't hear your voice. I didn't see you.
00:23Nobody ain't coming forward. I didn't see you, no way.
00:27It's the people who are holding my daughter.
00:30Unless she goes, she comes home and is not a beast.
00:33Ms. Batiste says, unknowing to her,
00:36Deisha left their Chamfler home in the early hours of Thursday, September 12th,
00:41leaving behind only a note explaining that she wanted more freedom to live her life.
00:46But Ms. Batiste says, based on disturbing phone calls she has received since Deisha left home,
00:52she has reason to fear that her daughter is in harm's way or worse.
00:56Somebody calls. This man calling me.
01:00And telling me that...
01:04A man called me and told me,
01:06Mommy, I tell you to take down all the videos and things.
01:09And this is 100% because she good.
01:12I said, so, what you mean?
01:14He said, because she buy me.
01:16And I was like, what you mean, she buy you?
01:18He said, um...
01:23He said, she buy me and she good.
01:26I said, so tell me what she say.
01:29I said, can I speak to her to know that she okay?
01:32He said, no.
01:34The worried mother acknowledges that her daughter had been troubled for some time
01:38due to some personal trauma,
01:40and says for this reason she would have confiscated Deisha's phone two years ago.
01:45But information has since reached her through Deisha's friends
01:48that the 14-year-old had recently met a man.
01:52This friend, whether it's a teenager, an adult,
01:57whoever, the person, maybe male or female,
02:01who all you know or all you see Deisha talking to,
02:07come forward and say something.
02:10If all you're afraid, write a letter or a note,
02:14and when nobody in the classroom,
02:16rest it on someone at the teacher's desk
02:20or slide it underneath the office thing or something
02:25so that we can find her and bring her home.
02:28Ms. Batiste tells TV6 she relayed all the information to the police
02:32and continues to do so,
02:34but she feels as though her daughter's case is not being taken seriously.
02:39I got a disturbing call from a female officer
02:43because she was...
02:45I can understand people could be serious pertaining to things,
02:49but she was like...
02:53Did you hear anything about your daughter yet?
02:58I was like, no.
03:01Who is this?
03:02And then she said, WPC, whatever.
03:04And I was like, hi.
03:06And she was like, your daughter come home?
03:08I was like, no.
03:09She said, well, you know when your daughter come home now
03:11because we want to take down the missing person report.
03:14And I said...
03:17Okay.
