Livestock editor Rebecca Nadge and Dubbo reporter Elka Devney take you through some of the results and trends from studstock sales.

00:00Hi, and welcome back to another episode of The Land's Last Lot, where we take a look

00:08at some of the stud stock sale trends and results over the past fortnight.

00:11I'm journalist Alka Devney, and I'm livestock editor Rebecca Nudge.

00:15Well, we are well and truly in the thick of ram sales season at the moment, and there's

00:20been some interesting results so far.

00:22Yeah, Bec, you caught up with Rick Power from Nutrient Studstock a couple of days ago.

00:26What did he have to say about the results we've seen?

00:28He said sales are going about as well as expected.

00:32He did note that some of the bigger operations have had some standout results, and in particular,

00:37studs that are focusing on ASBVs, so your indexes and your data, they are really beginning

00:43to forge ahead.

00:44Yeah, I'd say that's pretty consistent with what we've seen in the central west of Lake.

00:48A sought-after impact sire made $21,000 at Lachlan Arenas earlier this fortnight, with

00:53a full 160 rams cleared to average $3,780.

00:57Yeah, that's impressive.

01:00All 278 rams at Yarrawonga, Perrino, and Polo Marinos sold to a $20,000 top to average $4,183,

01:09and Pulganook and Wonganella cleared 209 rams to a top of $17,000 to average $2,616.

01:17And that marks the final sale for the Gold family.

01:19It came after the sale of Australian food and agriculture to U.S. investors.

01:24That must have been a pretty special day for the Bells.

01:26The Coddington family of Roseville Park Marinos and Polo Marinos achieved a full clearance

01:31of 210 rams to a $20,000 top to average $3,178.

01:37Garama Pole Dorsets topped at $23,000 with a full clearance of 136 rams to average $3,542.

01:46And in the Aussie Whites, Taddick Hill delivered a top of $50,000 in its stud ram offering,

01:51with 20 of 25 averaging $18,625.

01:56Flock rams reached 9,000 to average $3,957.

02:01That was across 147 of 198.

02:04It had a full clearance of the Scandinland stud ewes to average $2,600, and 35 stud ewes

02:11averaged $1,626.

02:14Red Hill Aussie Whites also had a full clearance, good sale there, 78 rams to average $3,112.

02:22And Kieran Pole at Yeovil has once again cleared the shed, 541 rams sold, top of $10,000, second

02:30top price of $8,000 to average $2,839.
