Hi, and welcome back to another episode of The Land's Last Loft, where we look at the
00:08
Fort Valley stunt sale trends and results.
00:10
I'm journalist Anca Depi.
00:12
And I'm Livestock Editor, Rebecca Nudge.
00:15
It has been a really hectic couple of weeks.
00:18
We've had everything from a new average set for the season, right through to the DAWPA
00:22
Nationals at Dubbo.
00:23
Now, Becca, I heard it was quite a busy day last week at Melamara.
00:28
You were actually on the ground cover, is it?
00:29
I'll teach you how to go.
00:31
Yeah, lucky enough to be there.
00:32
Very impressive sale.
00:34
Average $27,227.
00:38
That is so impressive this season.
00:39
Top prize of $140,000.
00:40
Well done.
00:41
$140,000.
00:42
Thank you very much.
00:44
$50,000.
00:45
That's not as extreme as previous years, but so consistent throughout.
00:50
And know where the buyer's from?
00:52
Everywhere.
00:53
Western Australia.
00:54
A lot from Western Australia, a lot from Queensland, as well as locally.
00:58
A lot of sales in that $40,000 to $70,000 mark, which is what would have boosted the
01:03
average.
01:04
But, yeah, a static result at the start, though, we're just through.
01:07
That's awesome.
01:08
They're certainly a stud that's making a big impact on the beef industry, that's for sure.
01:12
A bit of 110, a bit of 10, a bit of 15.
01:15
Bill Willer also reported a very good result, clearing all 97 bulls to a top of 120,000
01:22
to average 22,876.
01:25
Shredbridge Wagyu was also very impressive.
01:28
All 169 yearling and two-year-olds sold to a $55,000 top and strong 20,461 average.
01:36
It's only the stud's second sale, and the result was on par with last year.
01:40
Another notable bull sale was Ben Nevis at Walker.
01:46
A yearling topped the sale, selling for 100,000, with the 83 lots averaging 15,600.
01:53
And Hazeldine recorded a full clearance of 142 bulls to top at 25,000 and averaged 13,106.
02:02
Ram sales have also started well.
02:05
Haddon Rigg topped at 14,000 and averaged 2,570, with 263 of 281 polled and Horn Marinos
02:15
selling at auction.
02:16
Trigger Vale topped at 12,000 and averaged 2,803 across 197 of 230 polled Marinos and
02:24
also averaged 1,618 for 86 of 97 white suffix.
02:30
Felix had a full clearance across 204 polled Dorsets and white suffix to average 2,800.
02:37
Cranbrook polled Dorsets also had a good result, topping at 15,250 to average 2,473.
02:46
That's all we have time for this week.
02:48
You can catch the full results and reports via the Lens website.
02:51
Yeah, another big couple of weeks coming up, of course.
02:54
You can see us out and about at a heap of different sales, everything from Rosehill
02:58
Park, Polled Woonook, Tadda Keel and Kerin Poll.
03:02
And we'll see you next time.
