00:00I got $615 bear, $615 quick, hurry, one of a night at $615.
00:06Had the first cross ewes sale at Nabro, they yarded over 3,000 first cross ewes,
00:10which is pretty typical of the number.
00:13A really, really good quality yarding there at Nabro.
00:16The sheep looked particularly well, very, very well bred, as you'd expect,
00:20and very well presented.
00:22The tops of the ewes at Nabro made $615.
00:26They got down to about $450, but averaged $507 at Nabro for those sheep,
00:32so that's an outstanding result for over 3,000 first cross ewes.
00:36And then we came over to Narrandera on the same day.
00:38Narrandera was at 11, Narrandera at 1 o'clock.
00:41And, yeah, look, a very similar result here.
00:44The tops of the ewes here made $615.
00:48Probably three or four or five pens made $600.
00:52And then the general run of ewes here was for $500 and sort of $50.
00:56But did get back under $500.
00:59You know, there were some sheep, some smaller lots and sheep
01:03that weren't quite as big for $400 and sort of $50.
01:06So, overall, the two markets were almost exactly the same.
01:10Some really good quality sheep at both of them, as you would expect.
01:14Where the market sat, probably two or three weeks ago,
01:16we didn't think you'd be getting $600 for them,
01:19but they made $620, I think, at West Weilung on Friday.
01:22So that seems to be about where the producers are prepared to pay to.
01:26And that's just purely on the back of the land market being very, very strong.
01:30And the old sheep market, I think,
01:32has probably got as much to do with it as any.
01:34You know, a lot of these blokes would be selling their first cross ewes
01:36for in excess of $250 and a lot of them probably over $300 for those old ewes.
01:43They're getting $300 plus for their suckers.
01:45We saw suckers top in Wagga, say yards last week,
01:48at $399 for the McKelvey suckers out of Mara.
01:52So that gives you an idea where the...
01:54how come they're making so much money.
01:56Great season, obviously, in the Riverina.
01:58Great season in the Central West and the Southern Tablelands.
02:02And I think that's the reason why they're making this sort of money.
