Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're gonna take you for a ride with the 10
00:15
most powerful fighters in the Marvel vs. Capcom series. Remember there is no such
00:22
thing as balance in MVC. No such thing. Before we begin we publish new videos
00:31
all week long so be sure to subscribe to Mojo Plays and ring the bell to be
00:36
notified about our latest videos. Dormammu
00:42
Regardless if you're playing MVC 3 or Infinite, Dormammu has proven to be one
00:52
of the biggest threats on the rosters. Doctor Strange's otherworldly nemesis
00:57
wields a great amount of power to keep his opponents at bay, meaning the zoning
01:01
game here is strong. Really strong.
01:11
Some of his attacks can even reach across the entire screen to smack
01:15
rivals while he sits at a comfortable distance. His only big weakness is his
01:20
super slow mobility. Dude moves around like he's eaten a few too many boxes
01:24
of Twinkies, which can make him a punching bag for characters that excel
01:27
in rushdash. So he's mostly meant for bullying your opponent super early in
01:32
the game.
01:36
Welcome to my realm.
01:41
Morrigan
01:49
While the leading lady of Darkstalkers is an excellent choice in any MVC game,
01:54
her power has become notorious, particularly in the Ultimate Marvel
01:58
vs. Capcom 3 space. Morrigan is excellent in almost every way possible. Her
02:04
mobility is quick, her attacks are fast and fierce, and even in the air she can
02:09
put an intense amount of pressure on opponents.
02:18
However, there is one big catch in taking advantage of her potentially busted
02:22
design. You need to be incredibly precise with your inputs. Her attacks may have a
02:28
low number of frames, but so are her end frames, which can make it difficult in
02:33
connecting simple strings with devastating special moves. Hey, she's a
02:37
woman who demands patience and practice. Better come prepared and ready to prove
02:41
your worth to her.
02:50
Dante, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite
03:03
Like Morrigan and Dormammu, Dante also appears in MVC 3, but Infinite is where
03:08
you can see just how truly broken the Son of Sparta is. You ever hear the
03:12
phrase, Jack of all trades, master of none? Well, only the first half of that is
03:17
true for Dante.
03:25
Not only does he have top potential in rushing down foes, he has so many moves
03:30
that can lead into each other, including his special moves and hyper combos.
03:34
Combine that with a solid amount of reach and Dante gives your opponent
03:38
options in trying to pull off an infinite combo. They can get freaking
03:43
crazy, man.
03:46
Magneto, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 New Age of Heroes
04:06
Magneto is in a league many MVC 2 players refer to as the Four Horsemen,
04:12
S-tier fighters that you can almost expect everybody will use in a
04:16
tournament. We'll get to the other three soon, but Magneto has pretty much been
04:20
the Dante of MVC 2.
04:28
The evil mastermind boasts an insane amount of rushdown potential, as his
04:33
attacks have very few frames and can almost instantly lead into each other.
04:37
When used in the right ways, Magneto can practically deny your opponent from even
04:42
playing the game. What's more is that some folks are still finding new infinite
04:46
combos to pull off with him in every role possible. Remember, this is just one
04:51
of the Four Horsemen, wait until you see the other three.
04:59
Doctor Doom
05:03
While Doctor Doom has never risen to S-tier with the other, more
05:14
notorious fighters on this list, he has still consistently been one of the most
05:18
volatile picks in both MVC 2 and MVC 3, even Clash of Superheroes to some extent.
05:24
For starters, every one of Doom's assist moves works well with just about
05:28
everybody on the roster in each game, as they can help extend combos even further.
05:40
As for Doom when he's on screen, he has a handful of projectile attacks that can
05:45
litter the screen and put incredible pressure on your rival. Watch out for
05:49
those lightning-powered jazz hands, or else you might wind up in a devastating
05:53
combo, possibly an infinite if your opponent knows what they're doing.
06:03
Vergil, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
06:14
On the surface, one might assume Vergil is just a more hard-hitting iteration of
06:19
Dante. However, that could not be further from the truth. Though strong and
06:24
rushed down, Vergil is not really one for creating massive combos. On the contrary,
06:29
the pressure he creates mostly comes from his ability to teleport while
06:33
stringing attacks and assists together.
06:41
Yeah, it's the mix-ups that are going to make him really hard to read, so you
06:46
might need to do quite a bit of studying for Vergil to become somewhat
06:49
predictable. Otherwise, hope you enjoyed buying a game you can't play.
07:02
Sentinel, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 New Age of Heroes
07:13
A special shout-out to Cable, the second horseman, for having a really strong
07:18
advantage in range. Seriously, that Hyper Viper Cannon can be a combo in itself if
07:23
your opponent has a ton of meters saved up. But if you truly want to assault your
07:27
foes with projectiles, then the third horseman, Sentinel, is your guy. Er, robot, I mean.
07:41
This colossal mutant killer is infamously known for having some truly
07:45
busted ranged attacks in MVC2. In addition to assaulting you with waves of
07:50
rocket fists, Sentinel has a strong game in aerial mobility with its power of
07:55
flight. By hovering around the upper half of the stage, Sentinel can effectively
07:59
deny you the space by kicking you down and continue to launch more waves of
08:03
rocket fists at you. It is one big bully of a bot.
08:16
Hyper Venom, aka Red Venom, Marvel vs. Capcom Clash of Superheroes
08:34
Gee, how could a character with the name Hyper Venom possibly be one of the strongest
08:39
characters in a game like Marvel vs. Capcom? Well, first off, it's Venom. Venom has never
08:45
been one of the S-tier characters. He's great in combo potential and assists, but not so much
08:49
when it comes to super combos. So what makes Hyper Venom any different? Well, it's Venom,
08:55
but with much, much faster moves. Capcom did try to trade off his speed by making him receive
09:08
more damage than any other character in Clash of Superheroes, but ultimately, that didn't
09:12
stop him from becoming the top S-plus tier character in the whole game. Yeah, there's an
09:18
S-plus tier, can you believe that? Goldwar Machine saw the inverse of that tradeoff.
09:23
Great offense and defense, but slow as molasses. Still an S-plus tier character, though.
09:36
Zero, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
09:43
Out of all 48 playable characters in MBC3, Zero is the biggest bully of the bunch,
09:57
and not even in the fun way. In an average schmoe's hands, he sucks. Big time. His attacks
10:03
don't do as much damage as they feel they should, and stringing attacks together feels a lot more
10:07
demanding in response than most characters. But that's the thing, Zero is a high-risk,
10:12
high-reward fighter, almost like Morrigan. Land the inputs correctly, know which attacks can lead
10:17
to another, and Zero basically becomes an infinite combo machine. It's actually caused some MBC
10:31
players to really hate him in the competitive scene. Once you see someone on the stage choose
10:36
Zero, you know what the fight is going to look like. A one-sided beatdown that'll have you cry
10:41
out, he's already dead, in the first few seconds. But remember, MBC2 still has one more horseman
10:48
we haven't named yet. Storm, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 New Age of Heroes
11:06
New Age of Heroes
11:11
Cable, Sentinel, Magneto, all three are fighters you should absolutely be aware of if you plan to
11:18
tackle MBC2's online scene when that slick collection drives. But Storm is the one you
11:24
should dread the most. Storm basically has all of the benefits of the other three horsemen,
11:29
and none of the setbacks. Well, almost no setbacks.
11:36
New Age of Heroes
11:42
Just about every move in her kit is strong regardless if it's a ground or aerial move,
11:47
a close range or projectile attack, or a neutral or hyper combo. But the only setback is that some
11:53
of her most powerful attacks are a bit slow to start up, so at least she can't spam and exploit
11:59
them like most people would try to do. Even so, you don't need to be super precise to be a threat
12:05
with Storm. So long as you know how to use her moves and strategize effectively, don't be
12:09
surprised if people start to DC when they see you pick Storm. Marvel vs. Capcom
12:21
But what's your favorite Marvel vs. Capcom game, and what team do you usually play with?
12:25
Personally, I like UMVC 3, and I go with Morrigan, X-23, and Zero, if I'm being honest. Sorry.
12:34
