She is a bubbly and chirpy individual, who is all set to bring even more good vibes to the Republic Bank CPL during the Trinidad leg.

She's none other than media broadcaster Whitney Husbands, who will be interviewing persons in the crowds during matches at the Queen's Park Oval and Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

For Husbands, this is a dream come true.

00:00The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League is currently in progress with
00:03fans having a whale of a time. Soon the party heads to Trinidad with a new face
00:07expected to have a blast while interviewing the crowds. She's none other
00:11than the dynamic Whitney Husbands who's a well-known media broadcaster from the
00:14twin island country. Husbands took part in a CPL talent search competition and
00:18succeeded with flying colors to make the cut. So what does it mean to husbands to
00:22be making a CPL debut as an entertainer? I am super excited because I'm given the
00:27opportunity to showcase not just Trinidad and Tobago but the TKR in their
00:32element home and I am just excited to be in a different space where before I
00:39would have been sitting on any stands taking in some of the games and screaming
00:43six and four no I'm like actually a part of CPL so it's a great moment for me.
00:50Husbands is involved with both radio and TV and can be seen weekly on TV sixes
00:55beyond the tape which touches on crime in the twin island country. Soon she's
01:00going to be seen the world over when moving from person to person with mic in
01:03hand during the biggest party in sport. Speaking of which Husbands has great
01:08admiration for sports journalist Alex Jordan who's doing CPL television
01:12commentary at the moment. Now Alex Jordan I think she first of all is a
01:17dynamic woman. You cannot miss her in any space and she is so diverse in the way
01:23in which she presents but I know she holds sports very close to her heart
01:26especially cricket and you could see that with the information that she gives.
01:30Now I am not heavily involved in cricket like she is but it is a part of me as a
01:35part of my culture because growing up I played cricket home to be exact where my
01:41my cousins and my neighbors will come and play and out to bat and out to bowl I
01:44know the basics of the game but to see a female in her element it is also
01:48inspiring because I never know where I could end up after this I really don't
01:51know. While husbands may be experienced in this field having done so for two
01:56decades and counting she's only human. So does she have any butterflies ahead of
02:01the Trinidad leg of the CPL? Yes a lot of butterflies because again it is a avenue
02:08that I've never done before and I'm not sure what to expect but I am going in
02:13with an open mind getting ready to embrace everything and I'm ready to
02:17While in her teens Whitney's school teacher realized the now 37 year old
02:22broadcaster was made for media. Husbands can now look back and laugh at the times
02:27when she was ridiculed at school for her voice. In school I used to be heckled and
02:31they used to call me man voice because of the tone of my voice and how husky it was
02:34and but he saw something else and with that my parents just said okay and my
02:39dad went to school with Edison Carr and that is where it all began. Husbands will
02:44be involved in all five matches during the Trinidad leg of the CPL with the
02:48first one on September 18th at the Queens Park Oval.
