00:00I'm here at Wodonga where Thursday's store sale has wrapped up.

00:04Feeder cattle sold to strong demand with fewer numbers.

00:08Prices were up on last month and this stronger trend is expected to continue

00:12as numbers tighten further heading into winter.

00:16Meanwhile, in the past week across the state,

00:19results have been mixed with seasonal conditions heavily impacting the market.

00:24At all sales though, it was clear that anything with weight and quality

00:28attracted premium prices.

00:31At Bega last Thursday, while lighter cattle showing wintry conditions

00:35dominated the yarding and prices fell,

00:38agents said they still maintained good value for weight.

00:42In the central west, wintry conditions affected cattle quality

00:46and prices softened at Dubbo last Friday.

00:48While down the road at Forbes, recent rainfall boosted confidence

00:52and local bidders were strong.

00:54Prices rose $30 to $50 a head, reflective of the high quality yardage.

01:00Further north at Tamworth, the market was also dearer,

01:03with Queensland buyers from Roma and Taroom active,

01:06along with those from Inverell and Scone.

01:08Over at Nabiak on Saturday,

01:10better lines of wiener cattle sold stronger,

01:13while plainer cattle slipped in price.
