00:00Roneh Irwan Nor is not avoiding a warrant of arrest issued by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption

00:08Lawyer Shahruddin Ali said this in a statement today, explaining that Roneh, an immigration

00:13officer, was feeling very weak and breathless when he was summoned by MACC recently.

00:19Shahruddin said a consultant cardiologist found that his client had three severe heart

00:23blockages on the same day, making him medically unfit to surrender himself to MACC.

00:30The lawyer also slammed the agency's attempts to paint Roneh as a wanted fugitive on the

00:34run, saying the bad publicity may worsen his heart condition.

00:38Shahruddin also said Roneh is now ready and willing to surrender to the graft busters.

00:43Alternatively, he said the 49-year-old man could appear in court for remand proceedings

00:48at a date and time of MACC's choosing.

00:52Last week, it was reported that MACC was searching for Roneh to assist in an investigation.
