00:13In a statement today, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission said the man was
00:18arrested at 11pm in Kuala Lumpur in collaboration with the police after an arrest warrant was
00:25issued by a Sessions Court Judge in Sepang.
00:28It said the individual failed to appear for the case mentioned on February 24 and added
00:33that the suspect, who is currently in police custody, will be brought back to the same
00:38court in the near future.
00:40MCMC said the man would be charged under Section 233 Sub 1A of the Communications and Multimedia
00:47Act 1998, which provides for a maximum fine of RM50,000, one year's imprisonment or
00:54both upon conviction.
00:56The man allegedly committed the offence through his Facebook application.
