00:00Dr. Mahathir Mohamed's defamation trial against Ahmed Zahid Hamidi has been postponed

00:07to October 29th due to Mahathir's admission to the National Heart Institute for a lung

00:12infection.

00:13Mahathir's lawyer, Mior Nurhaider Sohaimi, informed the court that his client will be

00:18on medical leave until October 25th.

00:22Since Monday, Mahathir had been on the witness stand, undergoing cross-examination by Zahid's

00:27lawyer, Shahrukh Fazli Qamaruzman.

00:31The trial, originally scheduled for this week, has been rescheduled with additional hearing

00:35dates set for late October and three days in December.

00:39Mahathir's son, Mukriz, will be the second witness for the plaintiff.

00:44Mahathir is suing Zahid for the alleged use of the name Quti, which the former prime minister

00:48said was intended as a derogatory reference to imply that he was not born a Malay or Muslim.
