Israel’s air defense systems successfully intercepted most of these projectiles, though several struck Kiryat Shmona, causing significant damage.  The terror group Hezbollah quickly claimed responsibility for the attacks, stating it was retaliating for an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon the day before. According to local reports, that strike killed three emergency workers in the town of Froun.  Damage in Kiryat Shmona In Kiryat Shmona, one rocket scored a direct hit on a building, and another exploded on a sidewalk, leading to extensive damage across the area. Municipal crews worked overnight to assess the full scope of the damage, though darkness slowed the process.  Despite the destruction, no injuries were reported. The IDF confirmed that most rockets were intercepted before they could cause more harm.  Second Barrage: More Rockets Before Dawn Just hours later, around 5:30 a.m., another 30 rockets were fired from Lebanon. While some were intercepted, the remainder fell in open areas, causing less damage than the earlier barrage. 01:32just nine kilometers from the Lebanese border.

01:36These overnight attacks are relatively rare, but signal escalating tensions between Israel

01:41and Hezbollah.

01:42In response, Israeli fighter jets conducted airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in southern

01:47Lebanon, hitting targets in the towns of Eid Aran, Maroun al-Ras, and Yaran, which border

01:53the Galilee Panhandle.

01:55The IDF released footage of the strikes and confirmed that the attacks targeted Hezbollah

02:00and Amal operatives.

02:02The situation escalated further after Israeli forces struck a Hezbollah compound in Frown,

02:08eliminating Amal members who were allegedly involved in military activities.

02:13Hezbollah's ally, Amal, claimed the deceased were carrying out humanitarian duties at the

02:18time of the attack.

02:21Lebanon's health ministry condemned the strikes, stating that the Israeli military had targeted

02:25a civil defense team putting out fires from previous bombings.

02:30This is the second such incident involving emergency workers within a 12-hour period.

02:36Lebanon's Prime Minister, Najib Mekhati, called the attack a violation of international law

02:41and human values.

02:43Hezbollah has fired approximately 100 rockets into Israel over the past 24 hours.

02:50As the fighting continues, many communities in northern Israel remain inhabited, although

02:54tens of thousands were evaluated earlier in the conflict.

02:59Hezbollah has engaged in near-daily exchanges of fire with Israeli forces since the war

03:04in Gaza erupted following Hamas's attack on October 7.

03:09These clashes have resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians and 20 Israeli soldiers.
