00:00Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to the latest LP Eats video. The final one in our series
00:10looking for the very best burger in Preston. Now I have just walked a considerable distance
00:16across Preston from our offices in the centre out to Retail Park to come and try Five Guys.
00:25Now that is the final one we'll be reviewing on our list of places just over the way over
00:30behind me now. So we're going to head over there, try some Five Guys, see how we're getting
00:34on, complete our review series and officially crown the best burger in Preston. So let's
00:39head over, try it out, see what it's like.
00:40Hi all, my name's Jack Marshall and welcome to the latest and final LP Eats video in
00:59our season looking for Preston's top burger. Now, as you'll know, we've been to a vast
01:05array of different places so far on our journey to try and find the very best burger in Preston.
01:10Everywhere from kind of proper local classic takeaways where you can get doner and chips
01:15to all kind of like fancier up and coming sit down restaurants in the middle of town
01:20on Cheapside, places like that, where you're sitting down for a kind of very fancy burger
01:25where, you know, dab your lips with a napkin kind of thing. We've tried everything, including
01:30Maccies, which rated very poorly. But anyway, so final one today. It was National Burger
01:35Day when I went down to try this, so it kind of tied in really nicely celebrating National
01:38Burger Day with the final burger in our series to try and tie a little bow on the entire
01:42season and crown the best burger in Preston, having tried the top 10 based on kind of your
01:49recommendations and Google ratings. And we went down to Five Guys. So yeah, we went down
01:55to Five Guys on the Deepdale Retail Park. And yeah, first things first, the kind of
02:00vibe in there was good. They always have kind of nice decor, classic American diner kind
02:04of vibes. Lots of families in there, so they were all kind of having a nice time. Kids
02:08seemed happy enough. It was nice. I'm going to give them a 3.5 out of 5 for the vibe because
02:12it was just, yeah, it was fine. That was it. There was a bit of a long wait, I guess, for
02:18the food, given that it's supposed to be fast food, but that's how it goes. 3.5 out of 5
02:23for that. Now on to the burger itself. As people will know from Five Guys, they're kind
02:29of like the burgers are, you know, the price and then you can add your extras on for free.
02:33So I went for extra onions, pickles and American mustard. So we'll get on to the extras in a minute.
02:40But the meat itself, it was all right. It was a little dry, I've got to say. It didn't
02:46blow me away. It had that nice classic beefy flavour to it, which was really missing in
02:49something like the Mackey's one, which is a, you know, like a similar fast food, not
02:53similar fast food place, but it's a fast food place. Five Guys slightly leveled up from
02:56that. So it had a nice meaty taste to it, but it was lacking in that proper packs of
03:01punch, moisture, juicy down the chin, you know, like, oh, yeah, it's a proper burger.
03:04I mean, it's stuck into this. It was lacking that, I've got to say. So I'm giving it three
03:08out of five for that. It just needed more juiciness. That's all it was missing. The
03:12flavour was nice. Give me something more. That's all I wanted. Moisture. Like I say,
03:17it didn't help that the burger patties themselves weren't that juicy. But despite having like
03:24pickles, which, you know, bring like a crisp coolness to it and the American mustard and
03:28stuff, the whole thing, it just needed something to bring it together. And I do think that is
03:32just juicy meat. It needed juicy meat to bring it all together. I'm giving it a two point five
03:37out of five for the overall moisture because it didn't blow me away. It was OK. I did notice
03:43that it just wasn't it wasn't as juicy as you want it to be. And fundamentally, that's what
03:46we're marking on. So, yeah, two point five out of five on that. Extras. I'm giving a five out
03:53of five for extras because I got fries with it and they were absolutely loads. I have never been
03:59served this many fries with a fast food meal ever. Like I got to the end and I was like, I've got to
04:04throw some of these away because I mean, it's just there were loads of them. There were absolutely
04:08loads of them. I was stuffed. And they were nice fries as well. They were really, really good fries.
04:13So that was a positive. And also, like I say, the extras that you can add onto the burger yourself.
04:17That's a nice touch. All good. So, yeah, five out of five on that. We've touched on the vibe of the
04:22place. Coming on to value. Now, the whole thing, it cost me ÂŁ16.90, which is a lot of money. That
04:27is a lot of money. Not getting that much change from twenty quid for a burger and fries. No drink.
04:33I didn't get a drink, so I wasn't that bothered about a drink. That's not great value in my eyes,
04:39given that fries are pretty cheap to produce and the burger didn't blow me away. Now, that's the
04:45most expensive meal we've covered on LPE by, I'd say, quite a distance. So I'm giving them value of
04:51value rating of two out of five for that. Like I say, it didn't really knock my socks off.
04:56But yeah, overall score of 16 out of 25. So yeah, anyone who's been keeping score and watching
05:01knows that we will now have been able to crown our LPEs winner. It's very tight between two at the
05:06top. One has just edged it by 0.5 of a mark. So congrats to that certain establishment, which we
05:12will be heading back to to try and see what they have to say about being crowned best burger
05:17impression. But yeah, thanks for watching this review. Thanks for watching the entire series.
