For this week's All Hopes No Promises review, we headed down to a local classic in the city to try what might be the most famous burger joint in Preston...

00:09Now today I'm going to be trying something a little bit different, it's the kind of place

00:14which is super famous in Preston, it's one of those kind of like uber modern really famous

00:23locally beloved local spots which isn't part of the chain although they do have another

00:29restaurant up in Lancaster but it's a proper locally run place, famous locally proper place

00:36in Preston which everyone knows about, you say burgers in Preston they'll say this place

00:40and that is of course All Hopes No Promises so really excited to try this place it's just

00:46it's got it looks like it's got the right vibe it looks like it's got the right kind

00:50of menu it's got some serious bits of kit on there so can't wait to try it, come with

00:54me let's go have a see.

00:59Hi everyone, right when I left here we were just in All Hopes No Promises, we're having

01:11a quick look around I've since been in, grabbed the burger, come back, tried it at our office

01:16just been sorting out a review now and yeah what can I say I'm going to start off with

01:21the vibe of the place, like I say it's one of those very ultra cool modern places, it's

01:27got a very kind of like distressed wood kind of decor vibe, lots of neon, lots of cool

01:34artwork on the sides, people were dead friendly in there, very cool, nice weather so all the

01:38windows were open, it just had a good vibe to it so yeah I'm really pleased with that

01:42I'm going to give them a 5 out of 5 on the vibe because it was just it was flawless there's

01:46nothing you can improve on it really, it had the kind of like interior design that was

01:52very appealing and very modern and very comfortable you know you kind of feel like you could feel

01:55like good wine there, it felt like you were at home so that was really positive, staff

02:00were really friendly, service was pretty nifty given that they make it all ready for you

02:05on site that was all really good so absolutely no complaints, it was 5 out of 5, really really

02:09good. Onto the burger itself, the icing was massive, I was kind of carting it back to

02:15have it for my lunch and I was like wait it was heavy and so I had plenty of kind of heft

02:20to which is always what you want from when you're hungry on a lunchtime what you want

02:23from your burger so that was really positive so yeah cart it back I was just kind of like

02:30keen to get stuck in and find out actually kind of like what all the fuss is about because

02:34never actually had an AHNP burger myself before which is kind of like impressive classic so

02:41you've got to try these things so it looked amazing, it smelled incredible, it was absolutely

02:45it was a sight for sore eyes, it was unbelievable this thing so really keen to get stuck in

02:51I had the bacon one, I can't actually say the name because it's got rude words in it

02:55but anyway I had the bacon one, yeah onto the meat to begin with it was really good

02:59it was like proper beefy beef, some hamburgers can just taste a bit bland, this was beef

03:05it packed a proper beefy taste to it which was great that was really nice, it could have

03:09done with a bit more kind of pepperiness to it maybe something like that but yeah really

03:13good really enjoyed it maybe the only complaint was it just just like that proper juiciness

03:17you know when you bite into a really classic burger get a bit of juiciness to it it didn't

03:23have that in abundance it did have it but it wasn't overwhelming so yeah maybe that's

03:27the only point I'm gonna give it a 4.5, a 4 out of 5 for the meat itself and onto the

03:32moisture of the burger it was it was pretty good I felt like a lot of the moisture was

03:36coming from just kind of like a bit of salad there was a bit of sauce in there I felt like

03:41I could have done with more sauce bit more juiciness from the burger stuff like pickles

03:45would have been nice as for a bit of sharpness bit of a different kind of texture that kind

03:50of thing it was okay I'm giving them a 3.5 out of 5 for the moisture of the burger I

03:55felt like slap a bit more sauce on there that's all it would have taken that would have bumped

03:59it up for me and like I said we've discussed the burger itself but a bit more moisture

04:05from from sauce would have been good and also there was melted cheese on there but it didn't

04:08really I don't know it didn't really I didn't really get it in the flavor palette so I wanted

04:13the cheese to come through with the moisture and then the kind of like flavor palette as

04:18well and it wasn't quite there so yeah 3.5 on that front on to the extras now the chips

04:24were perfect literally no notes they were flawless and they were great the salad on

04:30the burger like I say because there was some pickles on there so yeah that's that's kind

04:35of personal thing really I love a pickle on a burger so you kind of gotta have that and

04:38then that was slightly missing overall though they were the extras were pretty good like

04:44I say a bit more sauce needed a bit just a bit more of some things but generally it was

04:48good bacon's another one of those things when you have like a bacon patty I want the bacon

04:52to kind of like there and it just wasn't it was just kind of like sometimes you get a

04:56bit of it in a mouthful but you want bacon to really contribute towards a flavor I don't

05:00think it was quite there so just maybe more of these things more sauce more bacon more

05:04stuff like that so yeah I'm gonna give them a 4 out of 5 on the extras because they were

05:09good like I said those chips are incredible so bang on on that front and then finally

05:12we're coming to the value now this whole thing with the chips and the burger itself cost quite

05:18a lot of money it's like £13.95 it's a hefty chunk of change really but it is good quality

05:24and it is like beloved local sports who are sporting local but I'm gonna give me a 3.5

05:29on value there was a lot of food there don't get me wrong but there's a lot of money in

05:33it almost 15 quid for your lunch is really not sustainable you're not doing that most

05:37days but yeah quality was good price a little on the steep side but you are paying you are

05:42paying for a pretty good meal so yeah thanks for watching
