00:00With front airlines recently launching its non-stop Puerto Rico, Trinidad and
00:17Tobago service, Minister of Transport Ron Sullivan says this country can expect
00:23more airlines starting TNT routes in the near future. Just last week, a week
00:28before we had the airline, front airline actually coming to Trinidad, we have a
00:34couple other airlines that should be utilizing our airport within the next
00:38couple of months. So this sector, driven by the Airport Authority, the Ministry of
00:43Works and the blessings of the entire Cabinet of Trinidad and Tobago have
00:49been doing their part to develop the aviation sector. This as moves are being
00:54made to develop the Aeropark at Piako International Airport after many years.
00:59Finally, we have been able to settle on an RFP which is out at this at this time
01:05to develop that park. What that park will bring to Trinidad and Tobago
01:11basically is high-end jobs in the aviation sector. Through the Ministry of
01:17Works and Transport, and I know we have the Air Services Committee who have been
01:22very busy trying to get all the air service agreements signed around the
01:28world. They have been successful in the UAE, Qatar, and the San Ghana is to be
01:34signed, Nigeria, we did the Netherlands recently, Dominican Republic is to be
01:42done within the next couple of months. In the coming month, TNT will host an
01:46aviation conference bringing hundreds of aviation representatives from all around
01:51the world. In August, we will be hosted here in Trinidad for the first time. The
01:57airport, all the airports in Latin America, Caribbean, and I think North
02:05America will be here in Trinidad. All these airports will be here in Trinidad
02:10on a conference at the Hyatt. What are the benefits of that for us here? We will
02:15have over 200 CEUs of different airlines, airports coming to Trinidad for
02:22this conference and we are hoping from that we can one, have more airlifts into
02:28Trinidad, we can attract partnerships with airlines, airports, and continue to
02:36drive that sector. I am Renassa Cutting and this was Inside Business.
