00:00The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts is expressing excitement over the return of
00:05Air Canada's non-stop service between Toronto's Pearson International Airport in Canada and
00:11Piago International Airport in Trinidad.
00:13The service will commence on May 1, 2025 by way of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 with 169 seats
00:21and what the Tourism Ministry outlines as Air Canada's range of services to ensure comfortable
00:27travel.
00:28According to the Ministry, flights will operate four times weekly on a year-round basis, enhancing
00:34connectivity while boosting the economy, including through investment as well as tourism.
00:40In terms of flight schedule, Air Canada Flight 984 will take off from Toronto to Port of
00:46Spain on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Flight Air Canada 985 from Port
00:54of Spain to Toronto will leave on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 2.35am.
01:02Minister of Tourism Randall Mitchell calls it a significant moment for travel and for
01:06people in TNT and is one to be celebrated as he notes that a COVID-19 pandemic caused
01:12the service to cease.
01:14Mitchell says, quote, this flight will again bring the world and in particular our diaspora
01:20closer to us, facilitating tourism, trade and the exchange of culture between Canada
01:25and our beautiful islands.
01:27We are confident that this enhanced connectivity will drive new opportunities for our hospitality
01:33industry and other sectors as well as encourage Canadians to visit and explore the rich heritage,
01:40diverse landscapes and warm hospitality that our nation is known for.
