Eight other homicides were reported over a 24 hour period beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday.
The victims included a 31-year-old woman and also resulted in two men, aged 62 and 66, being injured after being struck by what police suspect to be 'stray bullets' as they were simply in the line of fire.
The killings took place in communities such as Belmont, Laventille, Sangre Grande, and Maturita

00:00The spate of murders began at 4pm on Friday along Agostini Street in Belmont, where 29-year-old
00:06Hassani Bonas of Rudolf Charles Link Road in Laventille and Jaheem Shallow, 19, of Rigsby
00:13Street in Belmont were fatally shot.
00:15They were said to be liming along the roadway when a white paneled van, a white Nissan 80
00:20wagon and a silver Toyota Fielder pulled up next to them.
00:24Several men exited the cars and opened fire, hitting Bonas and Shallow several times.
00:29Bonas died on the scene while Shallow was pronounced dead at 6.30pm at the Port of Spain
00:35General Hospital, where he was being treated.
00:3732 spent 5.56mm shells were found at the scene of this shooting.
00:44Then at about 8.45pm, Jamarque Funrose, 20, and Coen McLeod, 44, were fatally shot along
00:52Mango Rose in Laventille.
00:55The incident also resulted in a 66-year-old man being wounded.
00:59The three men were liming on the pavement when a silver Nissan Teeter pulled up next

01:04Three masked men exited the car and opened fire on the group.
01:07They then returned to the vehicle and drove away.
01:11The three injured men were conveyed to the General Hospital.
01:14However, two died while undergoing treatment.
01:18In San Gregrande, 36-year-old Sean George of Foster Road was fatally shot in his home.
01:24The incident also resulted in a 62-year-old man being injured.
01:29TV6 was told that at about 10pm yesterday, relatives heard gunshots and upon investigating,
01:35they found George lying on the ground in a pool of blood.
01:39He appeared to have been shot several times in his chest.
01:42Then at about 3.50am today, Dwayne Richardson, 35, and his wife Latoya, 31, were fatally
01:51shot at their home along Matarita Trace in Arima.
01:55Police were told that relatives at the home heard a series of loud explosions.
01:59They then heard the couple screaming in pain.
02:02They were found in their bedroom.
02:05Then at about 10am today, the body of missing rideshare driver Shakeem Charles was found
02:11in a bushy area off Sunrest Branch Road in Pinal.
02:16The body bore marks of violence.
02:18A post-mortem has been ordered to confirm the cause of death.
02:22Charles of Indian Walk was last seen alive on July 9.
02:26He was last seen in Pinal at about 7.38pm driving his white Toyota Cross.
02:32The vehicle was found abandoned on Wednesday along Imon Lane in Valencia.
02:38And two businessmen were shot and injured during a home invasion on Friday morning along
02:44Adutra Road in Bejucal.
02:47The two injured men, aged 40 and 41, are said to be the owners of Hadfab Steel Fabricators.
02:54The incident took place at about 2.55am.
