00:00The biggest party in sport is just around the corner with fans looking forward to the fast paced action across the Caribbean.
00:07Tickets are available online to the public with an announcement yet to be made regarding the opening of box offices.
00:13Tuesday morning edition guest Peter Miller had plenty to offer in the capacity of CPL Head of Communications and Public Relations.
00:21We always try and keep the tickets as reasonable as possible.
00:23We don't want people to be paying hundreds of dollars, well thousands of dollars to be coming to the cricket.
00:28The tickets start at just 190 TT dollars for you to come, so less than 30 US for you to come and enjoy world class cricket.
00:35I think the players that we've got coming this year, I was talking with some of the pundits who are going to be coming and commentating on the CPL when it comes around
00:43and they were saying that they can't remember a better line up of overseas players.
00:47So the opportunity is there to watch one of the biggest cricket tournaments in the world in your backyard with some of the absolute best players.
00:55Jamaica is not a venue for the CPL this year.
00:57Added to that, the Jamaica Talawars were disbanded last year with the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons being the new franchise.
01:05So the question is, can Jamaica get back into the CPL in 2025 or in years to come?
01:12A question that's slightly above my pay grade I'm afraid.
01:15So I very much hope that Jamaica will be back.
01:20Certainly it wasn't ever a conversation where we closed the door on Jamaica coming back to CPL.
01:25We've got some absolutely fantastic memories of being in Jamaica and we'd love to be back there sooner rather than later.
01:30So hopefully that's 2025, the sooner the better as far as I'm concerned.
01:34I love watching cricket at Savannah Park and I'd love to be back there tomorrow.
01:37So fingers crossed.
01:39Miller also touched on the Trinbigo Knight Riders who won four titles, that number being the most by any team in CPL history.
01:47He believes the Knight Riders have what it takes to add another trophy to their cabinet in 2024.
01:52Yeah, the TKR team this year looks absolutely ridiculous.
01:55Obviously made the final last year.
01:57And I think if anything, they're stronger.
01:59You know, they brought in Jason Roy.
02:01They're going to have Tim David playing for them, the fantastic Australian finisher.
02:06And then, of course, all those Trinny greats that they've got in that side.
02:09And then, of course, just to just to finish things off, they have a certain Jamaican called Andre Russell,
02:15who is potentially still the most destructive T20 batter in the world.
02:19So, yeah, I think obviously the success that the TKR side has been has had over the years has been phenomenal.
02:26And you guys have another opportunity to potentially claim another crown in 2024.
02:31The men's CPL starts August 29th and ends October 6th.
02:36Prior to that, however, is the women's CPL in Trinidad from August 21st to the 29th.
