00:00On Tuesday, it was made public that GEM Radio signed a new three-year deal with the Caribbean Premier League
00:05to provide ball-by-ball coverage of matches.
00:08In Trinidad, listeners can tune in to Taj 92.3 FM for exclusive coverage.
00:13And the good news for fans is that there will be an increase in giveaways through the digital platform,
00:19that being the Taj Instagram and Facebook pages.
00:22The handle for that is TAJ923.
00:26GEM Radio station manager Raul D'Souza says such goodies are sure to bring smiles to the faces of cricket lovers.
00:34So one of the things that we've done in the past, but this year we're probably going to ramp it up.
00:39You know, if you want to look at some very exclusive giveaways,
00:45opportunities to win signed shirts by the teams, by your favorite player,
00:50maybe some signed caps, some signed bats.
00:52For fans, for real fans, things like this,
00:55would be the items that blow their mind.
00:58And Taj 92.3 in Trinidad is going to be the station that has all of that for you.
01:03The partnership between the GEM Radio team and the Caribbean Premier League started in 2019,
01:08with the 2020 tournament being held in a bubble in Trinidad.
01:12But then came Warner Park the following year,
01:15with a bond between the two parties becoming even stronger.
01:18But 2021 was the bubble in St. Kitts, where we would have all spent 41 days locked in the St. Kitts Marriott.
01:29And it was quite interesting in terms of one may say it was stressful.
01:33However, it gave us all our opportunity to really mesh, and not just with the CPL team and my team,
01:39but also with players, with managers.
01:42And we really grew a lot closer.
01:45I'd be honest, you know, these guys took care of me to the point where they shuttle me to every game and back.
01:50And from that, I mean, we really have developed a great relationship with CPL.
01:55Speaking of the relationship between the two,
01:58CPL head of PR and communications Peter Miller was delighted with the viewership in 2024.
02:04GEM Radio's sister station, CCN TV6, carried exclusive television coverage in TNT,
02:10which is also going to be the case in 2025.
02:14Based on the figures, Miller is hoping for more success this year.
02:17Yeah, and I think this year is going to be, you know, another great year for CPL.
02:21Lots of really interesting firsts for CPL in 2024.
02:24You know, we had the best ever viewing figures we've had for the Women's Caribbean Premier League,
02:28the best ever viewing figures we've had for the Men's Caribbean League,
02:32Caribbean Premier League, passing a billion viewers across the tournament for the first time,
02:36which is a huge moment for us.
02:39The 2025 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League bowls off on August 14th in Bastyr,
02:45with the St. Kitts and Nibus Patriots facing the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.
02:50Then we're now on ETV6port.
