00:00Well, severe weather in Mexico prevented anyone from diving into the pool at the
00:04Sissikan Championships. However, head coach Steven Mendoza indicated that the
00:09team is safe. The meet officials were reportedly acting on advice from state
00:13authorities. Action is expected to resume tomorrow. We have no swimming because the
00:19weather condition, because of the tropical storm Alberto, the government of
00:26Nuevo Leon decided that no activity will take place and that is for the
00:31safety of our swimmers. I want you to know we are doing well, we are safe, we
00:36are in the hotel, all our children are accounted for, food is provided and you
00:42know we believe we just have to keep listening to the briefings and we will
00:47get the report. Reflecting on the previous day, Mendoza gave a medal update
00:51and indicated that TNT also broke several records. Nikolai Blackman, as
00:56seen here, racing to victory in an amazing time of 22.40 seconds in the
01:0153. Akhil Joseph settling for fourth spot in 23.25 seconds. He's still working
01:07up to that sub 23 target. We received 12, 12 medals, you heard me right, 12 medals
01:14last night of those seven gold, two silver and three bronze. Added to that we
01:23had record-breaking swims from Nikolai Blackman, we had it from Zuri Ferguson
01:30and Liam Carrington. Added to that we had record-breaking swim, a national record
01:36for the 4x200 relay team 18 and over. So our sons and daughters are doing
01:43exceptionally well. Now swimmer Sherelle Thompson also blazed away in the water.
01:47She sprinted to victory in a time of 26.10 seconds, however Thompson missed
01:53out on qualification for the Olympics. Our swim last night in a sense brought
01:58the end of Olympic quest for Sherelle Thompson. Sherelle Thompson has been
02:04swimming for over 22 years, over 22 years serving this country and national teams
02:11and doing exceptionally well. So she got a gold last night in the women's 50
02:17freestyle. She won that race and but the time was not an Olympic time. Our team
02:22celebrated her last night because she said this is where she hangs up her
02:27paddles, this is where she ends her journey for Olympic quest.
