Canadian Youtuber Christopher Hughes also known as Chris Must List says despite his hopes he won't be leaving Trinidad and Tobago on Friday.

He also believes his safety is being put at risk

Nicole M Romany reports.
Transcript
00:00The YouTuber was arrested and charged with sedition after his videos with him speaking to persons who have been described as gang members went viral.
00:10In some of his videos, the persons were seen holding illegal firearms and ammunition.
00:16On Friday, Christmas List, who is out on bail, told TV6 he feels he may be in danger.
00:23I'm under the belief that certain people of power are testing how long I can live without a shadow of a doubt.
00:31These are real threats. Not only that, when I got out on bail, the location I was staying was publicized,
00:38the continual putting pictures of me with gang members, even when the topic is bail, it's the same photo, shiny objects that resemble firearms.
00:48He adds that contrary to the belief of some, his intent was never to glamorize crime.
00:55I didn't create the crime. I'm not promoting the crime. I'm trying to diagnose what's the problem here.
01:01So somebody smarter than me can say, hey, these people are talking for the first time.
01:05I'm giving a voice to people that are never heard. And the reason people love me in the street is for that reason.
01:11You know, they tell me the only time police come to the community is to arrest and kill.
01:15Hughes has no regrets about being in Trinidad.
01:18So I never once during this whole process or even the jail did I think I shouldn't have come or I should have done this differently.
01:28In reality, I have to deal with what's in front of me now.
01:31Despite reports that Christmas List had plans of leaving Trinidad and Tobago today to return home,
01:37Hughes tells TV6 that's not happening, as he has another court date in August.
01:42Hughes explains that the situation has taken its toll on him physically and mentally.
01:49I'm by no means an expert in incarceration.
01:52Six and a half days in a cell without simple necessities, a mattress or toilet paper.
02:00You know, I could pretend to be the strong man that's not affected by anything.
02:04But in reality, you know, I've been out for over a week and I still haven't had a good night's sleep.
02:08I'm still waking up all night.
02:11So I really don't know the full effects until it's going to take me some time.
02:15He says while he knows he will get through this, it's no easy feat.
02:19Noting Father's Day on Sunday.
02:22You know, Father's Day is around the corner.
02:24I have my three kids.
02:26We talk multiple times per day.
02:28Now that I'm out of jail, you know, with FaceTime, it makes it a little easier.
02:32But my youngest daughter is still like, when are you coming home, Dad?
02:34And the not knowing when I'm coming home, I guess, is the hardest part.
02:38Because I really thought I was going to be on a flight today as well.
