00:08During the first exercise, three men, ages 20 to 26, all from Movar, were arrested for
00:13gang-related offences.
00:15A similar exercise on Wednesday led to the arrest of a 44-year-old man from Movar.
00:21Two more murders were reported between Wednesday and Thursday, pushing the murder count to
00:25253.
00:28One of the victims was said to be a 17-year-old boy from Arima and the other an unidentified
00:33man from San Juan.
00:35Investigators say teenager Dwayne Karambokas was shot dead around 7.30 pm on Wednesday
00:43while liming at the home of a friend in Arima.
00:46Loud explosions were heard and Karambokas and a 19-year-old were found with gunshot
00:50wounds.
00:51The second killing happened early this morning along Laventille Road in San Juan.
00:56Police were told that residents of the area heard a series of loud explosions and upon
01:00investigating they found two men lying on the ground with gunshot wounds.
01:04The men were rushed to the Mount Hope Hospital where one died while undergoing surgery.
01:09Ten suspects were arrested and two firearms, ammunition and narcotics seized by police
01:13on Wednesday.
01:14An exercise in the La Jolla and Malabar districts led to the discovery of one rifle loaded with
01:1918 rounds of ammunition and the arrest of one juvenile male suspect.
01:23Two other suspects, ages 34 and 35, were held in relation to a report of robbery with
01:29violence and a 40-year-old man was held in connection with concealing gang-related activities.
01:35In Toco, officers seized one homemade shotgun and seven 12-gauge cartridges at the home
01:41of a 37-year-old suspect.
01:44In the Southern Division, officers stopped and searched a motor vehicle with four male
01:48suspects and found a revolver loaded with five rounds of ammunition under the driver's
01:53seat.
01:54In the Southwestern Division, officers went to the home of a 23-year-old suspect and found
01:582.4 kilograms of marijuana and a quantity of Trinidad and Tobago currency.
02:03The suspect was arrested.
02:06An elderly couple was beaten, tied and robbed during a home invasion by a group of criminals
02:11early this morning.
02:13According to police reports, the 59-year-old straightener and painter, together with his
02:1859-year-old wife, locked their La Fortune Laramie in San Fernando home around 12.30
02:24a.m. and went to sleep.
02:26However, around 2.30 a.m., they awoke to the noise of their bedroom door being opened and
02:32then observed a group of men dressed in dark-colored clothing and face masks, armed with knives
02:38and firearms.
02:39The bandits announced a robbery and proceeded to beat the couple about their body and faces.
02:46They were then hog-tied and forced to lay on the floor while the assailants ransacked
02:50their home.
02:51Before the suspects escaped in a waiting white Nissan B-15, they were able to steal approximately
02:5710,000 TT dollars, 1,000 U.S. dollars and about $25,000 worth in gold and diamond jewelry,
03:06along with other items.
03:08Investigations are ongoing.
