00:00 - Well, Angelee, today at YAY, about 2000 head,

00:04 you've had those two very big sales

00:06 in the last couple of weeks.

00:07 So I suppose quite a few broken bins,

00:09 but still the competition wasn't too bad, was it?

00:12 - Yeah, it was.

00:13 Thanks, Andrew.

00:14 Competition was very good here today.

00:16 As you said, both firms have just recently,

00:19 both Nutrient and ourselves Elders

00:21 have had our feature store sales for this time of year.

00:24 But, and typical this,

00:25 we are right in the depths of winter now in this area.

00:27 So what was either a cleanup or just cattle out of spec

00:30 or so forth, we added here today,

00:32 but sold a very solid competition,

00:34 especially on the heavier end.

00:36 Rates were probably just a touch easier than we have seen

00:38 in the last two sales,

00:40 but still everybody active here today.

00:42 So all your main commission guys, Midfield Meats,

00:45 Campbell Ross of Airport West, Duncan Brown of Howlong,

00:48 he was here, JNF or JBS Feedlots,

00:51 they were active and present.

00:52 So we've certainly seen the same spread, which is good,

00:56 and a good contingent of local buyers as well here

00:58 that sort of soak up the lighter weight calves.

01:01 - Price wise, how did it go?

01:02 - Price wise, it's been pretty equal, I'd imagine,

01:05 to most other sales, maybe just off a little bit,

01:07 just with the run of cattle that was yarded.

01:09 What we've been seeing, 380, 390 per our heaviest ears today

01:13 was probably a little bit more subdued to 360 or 70,

01:15 which was still a good result.

01:17 Our calves making similar money.

01:18 What we did sort of see today was a bit more of a local,

01:21 probably more so buying up to a certain price

01:24 in the younger, lighter weight steers,

01:26 was just a little bit stronger

01:27 than the last couple of sales that we've seen,

01:29 mainly through Yarra Valley and local competition here

01:31 just securing smaller numbers.
