Minimising grain losses a big focus at GRDC's harvester set up workshops

00:00I'm Peter Newman, I'm at the GRDC Harvester Setup Workshop here in Dandaragon in Western Australia.

00:05We've got a great group in today and the things I'm talking about, a lot about measuring losses.

00:10I sort of was involved in early days of measuring losses and I was very obsessed with getting our losses down.

00:16Still am, but it's getting losses down with high capacity in the harvesters.

00:20So we talk a lot about using trays to measure your losses and then try and get that capacity in your harvester

00:25and have less than 1% losses out of the back of the machine.

00:28I also talk about harvest weed seed control, something I've talked about for a long, long time.

00:33But yeah, just talking about the different harvest weed seed control tools that growers have open to them.
