Bairnsdale spring store cattle sale

00:00We've just commenced our opening spring sale for Bill Winnemann Company.

00:03We've yarded 2,400 cattle here today in Bensdale, the opening August sale.

00:07Our stand-alone sale for Bill Winnemann Company.

00:10Great expectations of the quality of the cattle, especially British cattle.

00:15We had a run of heavier cattle in the first 31 pens and they sold to Deere Trends.

00:19But what the biggest note was, you come around onto the weiner calves

00:22and the prices are up 100 cents on what we're predicting.

00:27You see what the market's done over the last six, especially the last month to six weeks.

00:33We've hit that market here today.

00:36We've got repeat buyers coming back on the cattle.

00:38The feedlotters are really putting a fall on the market with cattle that are at 380 plus kilos.

00:43We would have had 300 of them then today, both Blacks and Herefords.

00:47But yeah, confidence in the market.

00:49And I spot the little cattle, the little lighter cattle that have got the breeding behind themselves

00:54probably to Deere Trends, I'd say another $200 Deere on those cattle.

00:59But yeah, a bit of confidence in the job and our local support, with the feedlot support

01:04and the South Gippsland, we had an excellent result today in Bensdale.
