Alex Scott & Staff auctioneer David Setches says it was one of the best yardings they have seen all year.
Transcript
00:004,000 cattle yarded here today. An exceptional yarding of cattle. One of the best yardings of cattle we've seen so far this year. Again, feedlot domination was very, very strong. Those 500 to 600 kilo calves probably made 10 to 20 cents more than they did a fortnight ago.
00:21But again, the quality of the cattle here was outstanding. One of those 500 to 600 kilo cattle made anywhere from 520 to 550. You drop down into those volita feeder calves and 400 to 500 kilos, they bounced around anywhere from $5.80 to $6.30 for a feature run of Eddington and Hurley cattle.
00:51The cattle that were advertised. Exceptional quality cattle and made above expectation. You drop into those mid 200 kilo calves and they sold constantly from $6 to $6.80 depending on quality.
01:08So again, very, very strong. Had a very large vine fraternity here today. A lot of cattle stayed local. Obviously the feedlot's absorbed all the heavier cattle.
01:19But cattle went to more points of the compass today. And the gallery here, you know, just seems to get bigger week on week.
01:28Had a fair bit of rain here locally over the last fortnight. More rain to come. The season's starting to really take off.
01:36And we're getting a bit of runoff water into the dams and we've just got a lot of confidence in the job.
01:42And again, just a wonderful gardening of cattle. You know, I haven't seen a gardening put together like this this year.
01:49But you can really see it in the cattle. Cattle are starting to shed the hair and really start to bloom.
01:55So, you know, cattle sold very, very well. And let's just hope it continues, which I'm sure it will. And we'll see what happens in a fortnight's time.
02:05Let's go ahead and see how much Presidential Thunder did Rolls.
