00:03 How about this, Oakland trying to fight for double digit wins in the month of April?
00:07 Who would have saw that coming?
00:08 But how about yesterday as a major underdog, a two to nothing win over
00:11 the New York Yankees, which saw JP Sears and
00:14 Carlos Rodon pitching dual in the Bronx in the afternoon.
00:18 Sears, six innings pitch, three hits, no earned runs, one walk and
00:22 seven Ks, bringing his ERA for the season down to 3.38.
00:26 Carlos Rodon, seven innings pitch, one hits, no earned runs, two walks and
00:30 four Ks, bringing his ERA down to 2.70.
00:33 If you would have told me yesterday, Davis, before this game got underway,
00:37 by the way, Rodon's gonna pitch seven innings, not give up a single run.
00:40 The Yankees, you would have thought, probably would have had a runaway victory,
00:43 but their bats were absolutely ice cold.
00:45 And the better bullpen yesterday was with the Oakland Athletics.
00:49 >> It was, I mean, look, this is early season baseball.
00:52 This is why we don't lay minus 250 in early season baseball games.
00:56 Really, I just am probably not laying minus, maybe I'm not a good enough better,
01:00 but I'm not laying minus 250 in too many baseball games.
01:05 I've never seen this before.
01:07 Month into the season of the everyday starters for the Oakland Athletics,
01:12 not one guy is above league average in OPS+.
01:16 If you put in Tyler Nevin as the DH, then you can get there.
01:20 He is 102 in OPS+, Brent Rooker off the bench is 120 OPS+.
01:26 But they're just, look, it's early season.
01:29 The only part of the Oakland Athletics that gets me excited is their closer,
01:34 Mason Miller.
01:34 I mean, he's pretty much much watch baseball.
01:38 He's really good to watch.
01:39 And Paul Blackburn has been very good as well.
01:42 But the Oakland Athletics don't care about their organization.
01:46 Baseball doesn't care about the Oakland Athletics.
01:47 So I'm not really that inspired to care about Oakland A's baseball either.
