00:00We're going to start with the United States. I don't want to waste any time.
00:03The Team USA looks like the juggernaut that they were built to be.
00:06And we're talking Redeem Team, even after a silver medal, a runner-up finish in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
00:13They were an inning away from winning the whole darn thing against Team Japan, the last go-around.
00:18But they are putting their best foot forward right now.
00:20The United States got a 15-5 win over Team Brazil in their WBC opener.
00:25And then they blew it open in the back half of the ballgame against Great Britain in Houston.
00:29That was on Saturday when Tarek Skubal toed the rubber a 9-1 final score.
00:34The rundown on the Great Britain game is interesting because it was very NCAA tournament-ish.
00:40Or I really loved this one from Adam Amin, A.J. Pruszynski, Adam Wainwright, who do a heck of a
00:46job on the broadcast for Fox.
00:48They were comparing it to a group of five versus Power Five college football game.
00:53And I think that's perfect.
00:55The first pitch of the game from Tarek Skubal was taken deep by Nate Eaton.
00:59It was a shot, but it was also the first pitch of the game.
01:04And Tarek Skubal was asked about it after his start.
01:06He said it's a first-pitch fastball.
01:08It's the first pitch of the game.
01:09If they're going to clip that, that's fine.
01:10I felt good about the rest of the start.
01:12And the U.S. was down 1-0 when we were halfway home.
01:15But in the bottom of the fifth inning, the U.S. started rolling.
01:17Kyle Schwarber hit the big homer, and they win that game 9-1.
01:21This team is built to outlast others.
01:23And I found myself during that game on Saturday against Great Britain saying, this game's just too long.
01:29If it was a five-inning game, there are a lot of teams that have a shot.
01:33If it's a seven-inning game, there are a couple teams that have a shot.
01:36But you've got to play nine innings, and you have to get 27 outs against this offense.
01:40And that seems like an impossible task right now.
01:43So I'm glad that you seem so fired up about Team USA, because I've been watching tons of
01:48World Baseball Classic games this weekend, as I know you have as well.
01:51And I'm not as fired up about them.
01:53And it's not because I'm not rooting for Team USA.
01:56I want to be incredibly fired up about this team.
01:59I just felt like there hasn't been a certain amount of punch that we should be getting
02:06from the greatest roster ever assembled.
02:09Now, there have been good performances, like you said, right?
02:13Kyle Schwarber is hitting .500.
02:15Gunnar Henderson, in the last game, went four for five, with all four hits being above
02:22105 miles an hour.
02:24Why is he not starting?
02:26I love Bryce Terrain.
