00:00 Philia is the Philanthropy Europe Association. We bring together foundations and national
00:07 associations of foundations as well as other players from the broader philanthropy ecosystem.
00:14 And within this community we have foundations that invest specifically in research and innovation
00:20 that come together in the research forum to discuss topics around philanthropic investments
00:25 and equity in research, how to innovate, how to make sure that the patient capital of philanthropy
00:32 can be used in a purpose-driven way. So the keynote speaker this morning shared how innovation
00:39 comes from connecting people and connecting ideas, and philanthropy needs to have that
00:44 opportunity to do so as well. It actually also has a specific role as a catalyst, as
00:48 a gateway, as a bridge builder to bring together different stakeholders and different actors
00:54 to come up with solutions for the grand challenges of today.
