00:03 The performance of Travis Kelsey in the AFC Championship game,
00:07 I think has altered some of the thinking here.
00:10 And Joe, I don't think there's any swift effect on sports betting.
00:16 I do not think so and I don't believe that to be the case.
00:19 I do think that this is performance based.
00:22 But the books now do have to protect themselves against an element of
00:27 popularity with a position at the tight end position,
00:31 which you generally don't see.
00:32 His total is 72 and a half receiving yards.
00:35 If this was the regular season, Joe, of the NFL,
00:39 this may be my favorite bet on the board to go under.
00:42 Because this guy just didn't do anything, like the whole year.
00:45 But now all of a sudden it's playoff time.
00:48 And like maybe Rob Gronkowski in a way, it does feel like it's kind of Kelsey time
00:53 too.
00:54 >> Well, let's not forget he started off the year hurt, okay?
00:57 I don't think Travis Kelsey was really right most of the season physically.
01:01 And it didn't help that there weren't a lot of other players stepping up in that
01:04 void.
01:04 In fact, it really was to his detriment.
01:07 All the drops, all the poor wide receiver play that the Kansas City Chiefs
01:10 unfortunately had most of the regular season until Rushie Rice really sort of
01:13 emerged in the last seven or eight games.
01:16 But I gotta say, this one feels like an over to me too.
01:18 He is a guy that shows up in the big spotlight.
01:21 He looks healthier, that's for sure.
01:23 I would think in the playoffs and we've seen a version of him all season long.
01:26 And he has a sense of the history of what he's doing here.
01:29 And I think when you start to mention the names like Jerry Rice and
01:32 some of these records that he is approaching and breaking,
01:34 I think it's really important.
01:36 I think it's something that is not lost on these players.
01:39 He is the go to guy.
01:40 He is that big piece of the offense that you can rely on.
01:42 And I think today, I think the receptions for
01:45 me with the over is really intriguing.
01:47 But I'm always the guy that prefers to go for the yardage instead.
01:50 Because remember, the yardage is the easier one to obtain.
01:53 One big play gets you that yardage number almost locked up.
01:56 If he has a big 30 yard catch,
01:58 guess what, that's gonna put him in a great position to go over.
02:00 You never know, the seven seems right about right for
02:02 the number of receptions.
02:04 So give me the yardage instead over these two.
02:06 I think I prefer that in the over.
02:08 If I was gonna go with the receptions, I'd lean on the over too.
02:10 But I prefer the yardage to the receptions on this.
02:12 Davis, where do you stand when it comes to Kelsey's props today?
02:14 >> Actually, I like them both.
02:18 Again, just thinking like what is the logical way for the Chiefs game plan?
02:23 I got a crazy stat for you guys here.
02:26 Almost no one in the NFL has been worse against the Blitz this season
02:30 than Patrick Mahomes.
02:31 Obviously, before in his career,
02:32 he'd been one of the best quarterbacks against the Blitz.
02:35 What has changed?
02:36 Well, the first thing is, as Joe said, Kelsey really was not healthy.
02:40 And I think the two week break off here has been big for him.
02:44 But they just have a bunch of crappy wide receivers.
02:46 So a lot of the times against the Blitz, Mahomes has to scramble.
02:48 He's gotta get rid of the ball.
02:49 They've just been very inefficient in those spots.
02:52 And I think one of the things that Andy Reid will have dialed up is a lot of
02:55 quick stuff to all three of the tight ends for the Chiefs.
02:58 Bell, Gray, and Kelsey.
03:00 I think Mahomes might, we might get up there in attempts,
03:04 even if the yards are not that high, just as an extension of the running game.
03:09 And another thing I will tell you is no one is going to be rooting against
03:12 Travis Kelsey more than the owners and operators of sports books across this
03:16 great country.
03:17 Because if Travis Kelsey scores the first touchdown of this game and
03:22 goes over both his receiving yardage and his just receiving receptions, props.
03:29 I mean, those are far and away.
03:31 Craig, everyone I know, and obviously, I'm a Chiefs fan, my buddies are Chiefs fans.
03:35 This is what everyone has.
03:36 Everyone's got Kelsey first touchdown, Kelsey anytime touchdown,
03:42 Kelsey over receptions, Kelsey over yards, alternate yards, alternate.
03:46 It's all Kelsey, Kelsey for MVP.
03:49 I will tell you that sports books, they want, I mean,
03:52 a Chiefs win I think would be fine with them.
03:54 They don't really care cuz they get to bet every game plus 110 both sides.
03:58 But they do not want to be paying out everyone a nice steak dinner on Travis
04:01 Kelsey, I guarantee it.
