Recovery is underway after tornadoes ripped apart homes in southern Michigan, but more severe weather is on the way.

00:00And the recovery continues in southern Michigan after Friday's deadly tornadoes.
00:04At least three tornadoes touched down across the region, causing damage in three different counties.
00:09The outbreak marked an early start to tornado season for the state of Michigan.
00:13And unfortunately, more severe weather is expected for the same sliver of far southern Michigan again.
00:18So areas around Branch County there near the Indiana line and points west to near Chicago at risk in the
00:25far southern tier of Michigan.
00:27And again, over a dozen tornadoes being confirmed for the outbreak as a whole.
00:32Survey still continuing.
00:34As we take a look at what's going on today, the risk area does include those southernmost counties in Michigan.
00:40But that's going to be late at night.
00:41So that's a concern in the short term.
00:43We've got severe weather that will be escalating northeast Missouri through northern and central parts of Illinois.
00:48The Chicago metro, third biggest city in the country, major metropolitan area facing a major risk of severe weather.
00:55Our four-tiered severe threat index puts us at high risk.
00:58That's number three out of four on our list here.
01:01Northeast Missouri, southeast Iowa, right across central and north-central Illinois and in northern parts of Indiana.
01:06But we don't want to ignore the other areas.
