A nine-year-old pupil of Scarborough RC School is tonight recovering from injuries he sustained at school.
His mother tells us he was punched in the nose by another pupil and the injury was so severe that his uniform was partially covered in blood.
The child's mother spoke with TV6's Elizabeth Williams who has more in this report.

00:06 school on Tuesday by school officials, who said that there was a situation involving
00:11 her son.
00:12 The concerned mother said she arrived at the school and waited to see her son, unaware
00:18 of the seriousness of the situation.
00:20 "While waiting, I am here in my son in the principal's office, not too far away from
00:28 where I was waiting.
00:30 He's crying and talking.
00:32 Also I was hearing the principal's voice and there were other students standing inside
00:37 there.
00:38 The door was open."
00:39 She said after hearing the voices coming from the office at the school, she asked to see
00:44 her son.
00:45 "As I saw my son, he was bleeding from his nose and his shirt already stained and pants
00:52 and he was crying."
00:54 What was even more troubling to the parent is, she claimed, she was told to transport
00:59 her child to seek medical attention.
01:02 "The security officer trying to calm me down, telling me take him to a health facility.
01:09 So I like, you all don't have a school nurse here?
01:12 He's bleeding and she's inside there talking, trying to interrogate him and she didn't look
01:18 for help for him.
01:19 I don't know if his nose is broken.
01:21 He's bleeding.
01:23 No help and I was very upset.
01:26 So I did what the officer said.
01:28 I took him to a health facility, took him also to the police station to make a report."
01:35 She told the TV6 News that the matter was reported to the Division of Education.
01:40 So have you made a report to the Division of Education in the matter?
01:45 "A report was made by my daughter on that same day, an email report.
01:51 Someone contacted her and she gave them the episode."
